Hamburger Pie II

Simple to whip up, this is quick but hearty dinner pie that can be made with either ground beef or ground turkey. The meat and onion are sauteed, then tomato soup, Worcestershire sauce and mushrooms are stirred in. The tasty filling is spooned into a pasty-lined pan and the top crust is popped on. The pie bakes for 30 minutes.

Rhonda Van Gelderen of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin presses seasoned ground beef into a pie plate to form the crust of this comforting dish. 'It's a terrific time-saver because you don't brown the beef separately,' she writes.

Here's a good way to use leftover roast beef. Canned beef gravy and Beau Monde seasoning add to its flavor, and the topping is made with buttermilk baking mix.

This version of a traditional family favorite calls for beef tenderloin, and includes porcini mushrooms, carrots, celery, and potatoes. Packaged puff pastry makes the topping.

This is my family's favorite sandwich! We like it served with a nice fresh Caesar salad. Don't be intimidated by the extra sharp provolone's smell - it's really awesome when melted into the sandwich!

Everyone likes eggplant when you taste it in this savory pie. If you have eggplant in the garden or can get it at the market, I'd recommend this recipe. If the eggplant is large and the skin seems tough, its a good idea to peel it first. -Audrey Nemeth Chesterville, Maine

A meatloaf with a twist. The peaches add a sweet touch and go well with the ground beef.
