Very Good recipie. I needed to either cook meat longer or tenderize next time; but absolately recommend.

This was very good. I used regular onions instead of scallions, but other than that, I followed the directions as stated. The only problem that I had was that I didn't have enough juices to stir the flour into, so I had some lumps. But, that can be easily fixed next time. The white wine really made the dish -- it didn't overpower it, it just added a nice subtle flavor in the background. I just used cooking wine, but I bet it'd be even better with the real thing. My boyfriend, who loves the usual way I make stroganoff (I didn't use a recipe, just threw stuff together), was disappointed when he realized I wasn't making it the "normal" way. But, he seemed to really like it and I know I did P.S. I was thrown off by the picture. It looks like that cook used ground meat and no sour cream.

I used beef round instead of chuck because that is what I had on hand. Still came out very tender. I used 1 package pre-sliced fresh mushrooms instead of canned and added with onions. This was really good, but the sauce was a tad thin. I also felt like it was missing just a little something. I will definitely make again, it was definitely good, but next time I will add a little more flour or sour cream. I think a tablespoon of tomato paste or so and maybe a splash of worchestshire sauce might also add a little bit of needed flavor.

I don't know what I did wrong. I don't think it's the recipe that was the problem though. I think I might just leave the cooking to my boyfriend :(

This was the best stroganoff I have ever made and I used ground beef instead of chuck roast. I imagine it would have been even better without that substitution. Otherwise made it exactly as written and served over egg noodles. Both myself and my boyfriend (who doesn't like stroganoff) loved this. Thanks Donna! :)

My children liked this alot and the funny thing is they all claim to hate mushrooms! The only thing I left out was the wine and mustard didn't have any at the time.

I used Ground beef and 1 medium onion instead of the green onions. I also added 3/4 tsp of nutmeg which is a "secret" ingredient that I add to all stroganoff recipes.

My family liked the recipe. I made it as it stated though I did scale it down a bit. I ended up adding salt and then some garlic salt. I would be willing to try it again.

This was incredible!! I used Venison Tenderloin which I marinated in Cabernet for about an hour. I made it pretty much according to directions except I used fresh mushrooms, about a tsp of minced garlic, and only about 1/4 cup of sour cream. I served it over egg noodles with green beans sauteed with bacon and garlic and fresh baked bread. This was exactly what I was looking for and will make many times again.

My family wiped this out! The LOVED it, my picky kids, everyone. No repeats. I was shocked because Beef Stroganoff has never been the prettiest dish to look at. My changes were whole wheat egg noodles, cream cheese (a must!), red onions, and thinly sliced sirloin steak. This is the recipe rotation now.

Gave it 3 stars because there was a split decision about this dish. Partner really enjoyed it, I thought it too bland. Since I do the cooking I will continue the search for a better one.

This is an excellent recipe. I have 2 double or triple the recipe for my family. I use stew beef instead of chuck. And regular red onions instead of green.

EVERY time I make Beef Stroganoff [only using this recipe of course] I get a ton of complements on what a good cook I am. Then I get bombarded with requests for this recipe. This is my husbands favorite meal and he is ALWAYS happy when I make it. The few modifications I made are: Using all the green onion, not just the white part. Using Spicy Brown mustard instead of regular mustard..it gives it a nice sour kick Marinate the beef overnight, or at least a few hours in Worceshire sauce Double the garlic Use Lawry's seasoned pepper if possible. Much to my husband's dismay, I don't like mushrooms so I omit it from this recipe (a disgrace to stroganoff, I know) however...the next time I make it I do plan on using REAL and FRESH mushrooms as another reviewer said. I as well my husband don't do caned mushrooms.

Loved it. I didn't have any ground beef so I used 12 oz of left over already cooked skirt steak from fajitas and soaked them in 1/2 cup of red wine for one hour and I used not so fresh sliced mushrooms sauteed in 3 minced cloves of garlic in butter. I added the mixture of meat and wine to the onions, mushrooms and garlic. Following the other chefs' suggestions I added 1 T worcestershire sauce, 1/3 cup of sour cream and 1/4 cup of cream cheese and nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste to finish.

Very good! For years I made stroganoff with tomato paste, cream of mushroom soup, and worcestershire. But this mustard style adds a great new dimension to the flavor and my family loves it! Beef turns out tender and I add lots of mushrooms. Also happy not to be dependent on canned soup. I sometimes add more mustard/sour cream and wine to make more sauce and always turns out great!

I thought it was pretty good, thought could of used a little more flavor, but my husband thought it was bland. I did marinate the beef in red wine and added a fresh clove of minced garlic, so if I make it again I will definately add more seasonings.

Made this a tasty 30 minute meal by using ground beef. I cut the meat down a bit, added a bit more mushrooms, and used enough noodles for 4 people. Yum-o!
