I love beef stew!.. This recipe was very close to my recipe, but this was the first time I added rosemary and parsley. It came out very tasty! I added just a little more water along with the vegetables to be sure I had enough gravy. Thanks for the recipe!

Great stew, i made some minor changes. I used 1.5 cans of Swanson beef broth and 1/3 cup Merlot wine in place of the water and boulian cubes. I also added 2 bay leaves, coated my meat in a bag with flour, SP, onion powder. Added a sqeeze of ketchup and A1 after I browned the meat. Doubled the cornstarch. Used red potatoes. Yummy!!!

This soup was so flavorful and just delicious! Next time I am going to double the sauce though...it wasn't enough for me. Definately can't wait to be eating this again!

This stew is so yummy, total comfort food. The only thing I changed was triple the amount of cornstarch. So good and easy.

This stew was just perfect! I made a few changes. I used fresh chopped parsley instead of dried. I also added the liquid and spices to the crock-pot. Then added browned meat, and all the veggies and gave it a good stir. I cooked it high for 45 minutes, then on low for 2 hours. Will make this again and again!

I used beef stock instead of the bouillon and water. I also added in fresh garlic cloves and a couple bay leaves...this is such a comforting meal!

My boyfriend HATES stews and he loved this!! He even wants me to make this beef stew again! The only change I made was like another reviewer suggested, I threw the beef in with some garlic powder and flour first and then threw it in the pan. Also, I added 4 tbsp of cornstarch because we like our stew thick!

Excellent stew! After reading reviews made a couple of suggested changes. Coated beef with flour, garlic powder and pepper before browning. Used beef broth instead of bullion. Had no wine in house (teenagers!)so grabbed a little single serve bottle of cabernet and tossed that in. Used flour to thicken. Delicious!!!!

This was delish! I substituted 1/2 the water with beef broth, and threw in about 1/2 frozen/thawed peas about 15 minutes before we were ready to eat. My family thought that it was the best beef stew that I had ever made. The left-overs were a hit, too! I'll definitely make again. The meat was sooooo tender!! All of this time, I thought that the slow cooker was the only way to go. This recipe blew the slow cooker away! Anxiosly awaiting the next chilly day!

Ok, I know many of you hate when people alter the recipe, but here's what I did. I scaled the recipe in half, first of all. I added 3 cloves of chopped garlic while sauteing the beef, as well as some Montreal Chicken Seasoning. I used fresh rosemary and parsely (three times the amount of dried herbs). I used beef broth instead of the boullion, 1 and a half cans, to be exact. I put in the celery, carrots, and onion first, then added the potatoes during the last half hour of cooking. I also added cut green beans. I doubled the amount of starch as well. The end result was phenomenal. My boyfriend said it was the best beef stew he'd ever had!

This was pretty good. I had to keep adding water though because it would simmer out. By the time we ate it, it was pretty salty so next time I will cut back on the boulion. I also used leftoever roast that I shredded instead of stewing meat. Overall it was good. Will use again.

I added a can of diced tomatoes ...it added a real hearty flavor to the stew! (I also tripled the cornstarch/water.)

very good recipe. I used alot more cornstarch than it called for per other reviews and I cooked it for about 20 min less than required and it came out great. The meat was soooo tender!
