I love this recipe! No one in my home likes mushrooms, but they liked this. I would warn others though that meat does cook after taken out of the over, so you might want to take it out when it is 5 degrees before desired temp or you will overcook.

I would have prefered to make this in a crock pot, but ended up not being able to. It was easy to prepare, but not as flavorful as I was hoping. My roast was 2.7 lbs and was throughly DONE by the 2.5 hour mark, so that might have contributed to the taste. It was really the first I've ever made and everyone else liked it, but I would keep a closer eye on it as it came towards the end of the cooking time. Otherwise, it was great! I added potatoes (quartered), carrets & onions to the pan and pan seared all sides of the roast before baking. (Good tip or grandmother's tale, I'm not sure...)

Excellent recipe. We all loved it. The gravy was awesome with mashed potatoes. I usually do roasts in my slow cooker...not anymore. This one was tender and very flavorful and it sliced up very nicely. Thanks!

I tried this because my roast like this are usually dry and tough. I really like the recipe. My roast was very moist and tender. I did bake it only 2 hrs., it was a little small then 3 lbs. I also made the gravy and my D.H. even liked it. He took the left over to work for lunch,:-).

HOnestly people, do you really like bland tasting meat???? I was really looking forward to this because it smelled so good. but the outcome wasn't as good as the smell. What a waste of money on a good peice of meat. Sorry folks, but if you want a bland piece of meat, here you have it!!!

i added some garlic powder i always add it to my meats. the beef sirloin was very good and not hard to prepare.
