Made a few additions based on reviews. I also substituted corn tortillas for the chips. Pretty good. I'll try the chips next time.

This was awesome! I used taco seasoning instead of chili powder & used fritos instead of tortilla chips. The whole family loved it!

I did change the mayo to sour cream, it was great. The kids and hubby loved it. Will make this dish again in the future.

Really good - I did take some of the other reviewer's suggestions like subbing sour cream for miracle whip and using taco seasoning in place of chili pepper. My DH liked it and he is tough to please. I'll be making this again.

This recipe is so easy and so delicious - reminds me of a taco salad without lettuce. I too used taco seasoning and sour cream. I did keep the corn and added a can of kidney beans. The chips we used were the doritos spicy nacho. It was so good, moist, very flavorful and easy. This one is a keeper. Thanks for the idea!

Over the years I have made this recipe as indicated but serve chopped lettuce and chopped tomatoes on the side as a topping.

After reading the reviews from this site, I made the following changes. First, I skipped the corn altogether (my husband despises it, and I wasn't in the mood to argue with him!) I used 1/2 cup lite Miracle Whip and 1/2 cup fat-free sour cream; I finely chopped some onion and grated 2 cloves of fresh garlic, then added them to the cooking ground beef; I used a combination of reduced-fat cheeses (I think any types of cheese that you and your family like would work just as well here.) I also crushed 2 cups of Nacho Cheese Doritos for this, but next time, I think I will use barbecued Fritos (if only there were low-fat Doritos and Fritos, we'd have it made!) Even with my attempts to make this dish a lower fat recipe, it was absolutely delicious! My husband had two large helpings, and the rest of the family polished it off! Thank you, Lunch*Lady for submitting such a quick, easy and delish recipe!

1 tsp of chili powder is not enough seasoning. I added extra cumin, chili powder, paprika and pepper. I used half mayo / sour cream. I couldnt taste either so dont be afraid to use mayo! Loved the corn in it too. We had whole grain nacho chips. They have loads of flavour too. This is a good family size casserole.

This was awesome! As others suggested, cooked an onion with the ground beef and used taco seasoning instead of the chili powder. Also, omitted the mayo.

My kids loved this! My daughter said she may even have me make this for her Birthday dinner instead of going out to a restaurant to eat. Wow...that's a real compliment. :) From other suggestions, I cooked an onion with the ground beef, used 1/4 C mayo and 1/2 C of sour cream for the mixture, and used 2 TBSP of taco seasoning instead of the chili powder. Great recipe, thanks!

This is great. I went with the comments and used light sour cream and taco cheese. I did use a "heaping" cup of the sour cream and almost 1 and 3/4 cup of the salsa. I already had some hamburger meat cooked with the "Taco Seasoning I" from this site. This is a great recipe and really quick to make. It is also one that I will double next time and freeze one before cooking for an even QUICKER meal! Thanks for sharing and for all the helpful comments!

This is such an afforadable dish that will keep well if your family doesn't mind leftovers (and I like to have them for my lunches at work). Very yummy, quick economical dinner on those worknights when you want a quick meal.

I loved this! I added refried beans to the bottom of the casserole, and topped it with some sliced black olives...kind of turned into a crunchy enchilada bake but without the sauce! Also substituted sour cream for the Miracle Whip, as others suggested. I really really liked this dish but I don't think my boyfriend did so much because he's not really into casseroles...but in any case, I really liked it but I will have to wait a long time before I can make it again :( Can't wait for leftovers for lunch tomorrow :)

This is an excellent casserole. My family all said it is definitely a keeper! I didn't have any salsa, so I used a can of tomatoes and green chilies, and I also added green and black olives. YUM!

Really, really good! I used frozen corn (not a can) and a taco mix packet (not chili powder). I added lots of garlic and one cup black beans. I will use more cheese on top next time. This was a huge hit with everyone and we ate it for lunch the next day.
