This was great! I was a bit skeptical in the amount of flavor it would have but it was very flavorful. I did not add sugar, but did add finely chopped carrots and some frozen spinach. A very simple recipe that can be modified by using what is on hand. Will definitely make again and again! I

Great simple recipe, I definitely plan to make this many times. The reason I gave it only 4 stars is because the recipe does *not* stress that it's VERY important to use room-temperature rice, NOT hot, just-cooked rice. If you use hot rice, the dish will be very mushy. The first time I made this, I followed the recipe as it was written and was disappointed in the mushiness. But I gave it another try, and made the rice the night before, and then heated it just to room temperature before making this recipe. It came out much better and was delicious.

We had mixed reviews from our family of 8 five liked it very much saying it kinda tasted like Chop Suey. My husband who isn't into casseroles said the taste was ok but not much to look at. My two picky picky boys one said its ok I'd it again, the other said it reminded him of "old People" food and would eat it if he had to. Followed the directions as stated less some oil as I calculated the recipe for 8.

This recipe was quick and easy, and very good. And I'll be making it again. I added some fresh garlic and ginger, and slightly increased the soya sauce, but left everything else the same. Thanks!

I'm not crazy about this, but my husband just loves it. Thanks for the idea. We've made it a few times and it's a quick easy dish that provides some leftovers for our lunches as well.

Took several ideas from reviews-adding garlic and peas and carrots and more soy sauce. I also used jasmine rice which gives it more flavor. My 15 month old granddaughter LOVED it-it has everything she likes and she had 3 helpings!

Extremely simple and I always have these things on hand. The kids don't usually eat traditional Chinese fried rice but they will eat this since it's pretty plain. The only thing I did differently was to cook the meat with fresh garlic and a smidge of seasoned salt.

This saved me in a pinch! We are on a tight budget and not only did I have all these ingredients in the fridge my picky kiddos ate it all! I only added four tbls of soy sauce not five as some other. I did add green bell pepper and I sauted them with the onion before adding it to the rice. SO GOOD! Thanks so much, this is a keeper!

I was so surprised that ground beef could be so good in fried rice! I only changed a few things: I used 5 Tbls. soy sauce and I mixed the soy sauce and sugar in a seperate little dish before adding, I omitted the onion and used minced garlic with the ground beef. I had some leftover white rice and just used this recipe again with mushrooms instead of meat for a quick lunch. YUM! I think any meat would work well. NOTE** I think it's very important to know that fried rice works best if you use room temp. rice. Hot rice will only clump together and make a mushy mess. Also, if you omit the oil, then it's just not FRIED rice. The oil that coats each grain keeps the grains from sticking together, otherwise, you would have sticky rice.

Yummy!! So easy and it tastes like something out of a box, which pleases my three hungry boys. I used brown rice and a moderate amount of olive oil to reduce calories and make it a little healthier! Thanks for sharing!

we loved this but I did make changes after reading other reviews: I added ginger and garlic to the beef, splash of worchestire, 1 cup of peas and 1 drained can of baby corn, and omitted the eggs. before we ate I heard I don't want the meat from 1 kid and I don't like soy sauce from the other, they both ate it all up and asked for more! thank you this is super fast, good and cheap: perfect

This is a great and easy recipe. I'm not much good in the kitchen and working with both a limited budget and limited access to supplies. Suffice it to say that I made this last night and was thrilled with how it turned out. It has already become a staple of my cuisine. Thanks for sharing; we could use more like this.

I made the rice with chicken broth instead of water, and pureed green pepper, onion and mushrooms into it. (I like to sneak veggies into the food I feed my family!) Good and easy. The hamburger works surprisingly well with it!

I forgot to add soy sauce and sugar, and we seasoned to taste with "Slap Ya' Mama" cajun. I threw in some leftover canned green beans, finely chopped. My usually-picky children (and husband) gobbled this right up, as did I! Definitely a future "standard." THANKS!
