I made this to use up veggies from my farm share (coincidentally, I had carrots, green beans, and radishes to use, so it was perfect!) and took it to a friend's house for a dinner party and it was a rousing success. Since I was short on time, I steamed the carrots and green beans in the microwave before dumping them in the ice water and it seemed to work very well. On the advice of other reviewers, I doubled the dressing, which I think worked very well. In the future, I'd probably make this again and throw in other veggies that need to get eaten and I'm very likely to make the dressing again for other salads. Overall, solid veggie dish.

Good, easy to make. Allow more than 30 min if you want to refrigerate it prior to eating. The ice water bath helps though.

My family ate this salad, but our guests (and I)LOVED it. I followed the recipe as is except for the radishes which I had forgotten to purchase. I plan on making it again soon.

I didn't cook the beans long enough, but was still very good. Will make it again.

This was a decent salad, and my husband and I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't give it 5 stars necessarily. I didn't make the salad exactly, as I didn't have any radishes on hand. The salad "dressing" was good, but I think there should have been a bit more of it. And I don't like cumin, but it was okay in this dish. Other changes I made was to use whole grain Dijon mustard, and omit the toasted sesame seeds. I added fresh chopped parsley which I thought was a nice addition. If I made it again, I'd double the garlic, and make maybe 1 & 1/2 the amount of dressing. I used 1 pound of fresh green beans and microwaved them 5 minutes then put into ice water. I also used 2 regular carrots which I sliced on a diagonal and microwaved those about 3 minutes and then into ice water. They were tender-crisp and yummy. The salad tasted better the next day after the flavors had mingled a bit.
