This soup was DELICIOUS! This is coming from a person who has been duped on this site plenty of times by great reviewed recipes that tasted like . I am pleased to say that this is absolutely without a doubt yummmmmmmy!!! Thank u sooo much for sharing this!!!!!

Gave it a 4 star because I tweeked it to give it a lower fat content as I'm trying to lose weight. I didn't have whipping cream so I just used 1% milk. I used vine tomatoes and roasted it with some garlic cloves before following the rest of the directions. I used 3t of margarine instead of 1/2 cup and made a roux first. Some days, easy and comforting food is all it takes to turn a frown upside down.

This is, hands down, the best tomato soup recipe I've ever made. I usually tweak every recipe, but not this one. It needs no tweaking. And it's simple and quick. Add a grilled cheese sandwich and it doesn't get any better when I'm looking for a quick dinner on a cold evening.

This was a fast and easy recipe. I added a bit more sugar to sweeten up a bit. Very good with cheddar cheese on top.

This soup is very easy and very awesome! I followed the advice of others and made a few changes because I like a lot of flavor. I added sauteed garlic and onion, doubled the sugar and basil, and added some salt, pepper, garlic powder and Italian seasonings.

There's nothing like homemade tomato soup and this was no exception. I started off knowing I didn't want a creamy soup - just a plain tomato basil soup so I started out knowing I wasn't going to be putting the butter or cream in... I did add 1 Tbsp. of minced garlic, 1 tsp. of vinegar, 2 tsp. of sugar, along with some salt & pepper. This was done in no time and it was delicious - perfect with grilled cheese!
