This is my spin on a popular creamy cheese fondue. Have fun with it and incorporate the cheeses and veggies you like. Serve with veggies and bread sticks.

Best Formula Three-Cheese Fondue

We tried a couple of recipes; this was voted the best! The Gruyere gives a very sweet and nutty flavour to the fondue, the sharp Cheddar makes it tangy, and the Emmentaler blends it all. Cooking the flour first helps the mixture not to be so pasty and powdery.

Pilsen-port Swiss Fondue

I don't know if this was done in the 70's, but I happened to throw these together for a fondue night with some really rustic sourdough and it was awesome. Port wine and beer blend with Swiss cheese in this no nonsense fondue. If round sourdough is hard to find, use a baguette sliced into rounds.

Fondue with Tequila

Something different but delicious. A fondue with avocado, cream, Mexican cotija cheese and a hint of tequila. Serve with shrimp or bread for dipping.

A rich, creamy fondue, of sour cream, cream cheese, and cream of shrimp soup. Great for dunking chunks of fresh French bread-- or topping a bbq'd steak...a family favorite for sure!

This is a yummy appetizer. Creamy, cheesy and spicy - a variety of flavors are blended throughout. A real treat for your palate. Easy to put together, and well worth the time in the oven. Bake the scooped out pieces of bread and use them for dipping.

My mother often served fondue on Christmas Eve and I've since followed in that tradition. It's nice to offer a hearty appetizer that requires very little work. --Beth Fox, Lawrence, Kansas
