This was excellent! My 19 mo old loved it. I used 1 lb hamburger, 1/2 cup of barbeque sauce, 2 boxes of corn bread and 1 whole can of undrained tomatoes. I will definitely make this again.

I just don't think the flavors melded well together. I DID follow the original recipe, and I do believe the recipe would be better following the advice from these ratings. (1.Drain right after browning meat, 2. Extra barbeque sauce, 3. Less than 3 boxes of CB mix) I do believe it may have been a little better than, but not something I'd make more than once. No one liked it.

This recipe was OK. The only BBQ auce I had on hand was far to sweet. Next time I will try something with a smokey flavor, I think we will like it better.

Very, very good recipe! My 3 yr. old and husband loved it, too. I loved the BBQ sauce in it. I was hesitant since I only had spicy, but with the sweetness of the cornbread, it was just right. To cut down the recipe, I used 1.3 lb of beef, half the corn, 1 can of tomatoes undrained. I took the advice of others and drained the meat before adding veggies/bbq, added a clove of garlic and kidney beans. I really liked the addition of those. I also used 2 boxes of cornbread. Next time I may use 1 1/2. This tasted soooo good on a cold, windy day!! We will definitely have it again! Thanks!

I loved this recipe! My two year old even ate it. I also added extra bbq sauce. It warms up well also, that is if you have leftovers.

This was absolutely delicious. I made two changes: 1) I only used one package of corn bread mix. Three boxes seemed just way too much and carby. 2) I added garlic powder to the beef as it was browning. I drained the beef grease BEFORE I added the veggies.

I followed several of the recommendations other reviewers provided and it worked really well. I doubled the BBQ sauce, didn't drain the tomatoes, and drained the meat before adding the veggies. One problem I had was getting the corn muffin mix to spread evenly, there were places it was really thick, and places with a very thin layer after I took it out of the oven. This is probably my fault for dropping great big spoonfuls on the meat mixture. I would also say to watch the timer....I only cooked it for 20 minutes and the top was very brown. Overall, it was a great recipe. My husband added grated cheese and sour cream on it after it was baked. Excellent recipe!

I liked it very much. Next time I will make it in individual serving dishes since it will cook more evenly. My boyfriend said it was a little too sweet so I added hot sauce to his and he liked it better. Great recipe and it looks so pretty in the pan! I will make it again. And I too only used two boxes of Corn bread.

I only made half of this recipe because its only my husband and I. I used 1lb ground beef 1/2 can of tomatos, 1/2 can corn 1 small onion and 1 small green pepper I used aprox 1/2 cup of bbq sauce 1/4 seemed too dry and I used 2 boxes of corn muffin mix. It needs extra seasoning for my taste next time I will add some.

Wonderful recipe and even making half the recipe it made enough for me and my husband for two meals. The homesteader cornbread recipe off of this site was the best cornbread I have had and it will now be the only recipe I use. I made half the cornbread recipe to top this casserole.

I split this recipe in half as it is just me & my husband. I cooked in an 8 X 8 casserole dish . I drained the grease prior to adding the veggies & used a a little bit extra BBQ sauce & only 1 pack of cornbread. I also added one clove of garlic for flavor. My husband & I both enjoyed it & will definitely make this dish again.

I'd be willing to try this one again because the changes I made might have affected the end product. I used Rotel tomatoes which made it really spicy which I liked but was too hot for others. Also I didn't have enough meat so the cornbread seemed overwhelmingly thick even though I used only half a recipe of Homesteader Cornbread (from this site per another reviewer). So next time I try this I'll make sure to have the right ingredients. It was edible just not the best thing I've eaten.

My Dad said this was "interesting", but I think the biggest problem that I had was using a sweet bbq sauce. Definitely use a spicy one for this recipe. I used a little less than 1.4 lbs of beef, and only one package of cornbread mix. I also used the whole bottle of bbq sauce, and omitted the tomatoes since I didn't have any on hand. The whole thing fit perfectly into a 9x11 inch pan. I'll probably make this again, I'll just be sure to use a spicier bbq sauce.

This is a keeper for my family. I also used two boxes of mix and tomatoes with green chiles. I used a huge onion and green pepper, and added garlic. The cornbread was a little sweet, so I'll look for a mix that is not so sweet. Thanks for the great, easy recipe!
