One of my favorites! I don't add the vinegar or liquid smoke and it's perfect every single time. It's made quite the impression on folks I've made it for as well.

Delicious and simple. My friends were impressed the sauce was from scratch, not bottled.

This recipe was great the 1st time, okay the 2nd. Does anyone have any advice on shredding the beef? Also, I think it may taste too ketchup'y

Awesome! It's gone every time I make it! The cut of beef you choose will make a big difference. If you use a fatter cut, you should use a shallow spoon and spoon our all the oil before you shred the beef. Otherwise, it will be too oily. The sauce will be a bit runny, but add some cornstarch mixed with a bit of water, or flour or some other kind of thickener and it'll be just fine. You may need to add some more spices at the end for your taste. I use chili pepper flakes and a bit more sugar to round out the taste.

This was pretty good. I just shredded the beef right in the crockpot, mixed it with the sauce and put the lid back on for about 1/2 hour. I will try a few other recipes but may come back to this one.

THE BEST!!! I have made this 4 times in the past 10 months or so and every time it has turned out EXCELLENT!! If the sauce is too thin, add a Tablespoon or 2 of cornstarch. I cook this at high altitude and it is AWESOME every time!!

Recipe would have been too greasy if I would have placed shredded roast back in sauce so I made up another bach of the sauce and stirred in the beef and placed in oven until warmed. The flavor is so good that I've passed this recipes on to several others.

Another keeper! I thought it was great! I had bought some small chuck steaks in the reduced idle at the grocery store. They were each about a pound, for $2.35. I used both and it made plenty! My husband and son had left overs the next day and we froze some. Very easy to make, too. TY!

This recipe makes the best BBQ Sauce ever. I have made it for several occasions and always get rave reviews! One person told me it was better than a well know BBQ joint in our area. I always make extra sauce to put on the sandwich after the meat cooks or just to keep in the fridge when I need a little extra.

This was amazing! I'm giving it a 4/5 because I did use 1 cup BBQ sauce and 1/2 cup ketchup instead of all ketchup, and I added half of a green pepper, chopped, near the end. I always try to throw some extra type of vegetable in, and the green pepper complimented the flavour of this dish very nicely! I will DEFINITELY be making this reegularly.

This recipe makes excellent barbequed beef. I usually use a leaner cut than chuck. Always comes out great.

This tasted good, but the sauce was like water. I ended up draining the meat, shredding it and then added it to an entirely new batch of sauce. I liked this recipe, so I think I will just cook the meat next time and add the sauce during the last 15 minutes or so.

This is one of my favorite recipes. It is easy and very good. The flavor is nice and subtle. I like that it heats up well in the microwave for fantastic leftovers. I will be making this again and again.

This recipe was very bland. The sauce had the consistency of a thin soup. The beef was very tender, but had very little flavor. I followed the exact recipe and ended up with a forgetable dish. If you like your barbecued beef to taste like barbecue, I highly recommend looking for a recipe using tangier ingredients.

This is a wonderful Superbowl recipe! I always make it the day before and refrigerate it overnight so the fat will harden. It's so easy, then, to scrape off the fat and heat it up in the same sauce.
