Followed exact recipe, except that I didn't have liquid smoke. It was great, kids had second helpings!

WOW!!! (notice the 3 exclamation points) This was sooooo good, I added some BBQ sauce and a few big pieces of green pepper, and didn't add the dijon, it was fantastic. I made sandwiches using "french bread rolls to die for" and it went very nicely together, will be making this again next week for a party. Thank you for the deliciousness :)

Super easy, super delicious! I used 1c BBQ sauce and 1/2c ketchup. And I skipped the liquid smoke flavoring. It was still a big hit! Will definitely be making this in the future.

EASY!! This recipe makes any amateur cook look like a gourmet chef. I didn't measure anything...just through things in, and it still turned out great. It's a regular on my menu.

Wow. This was my first recipe in my brand new crock pot! I used 1c bbq sauce, 1/2c ketchup and it was great! I made it with some garlic texas toast, and it was a huge hit in my house! can't wait to make it again!

Used 1c BBQ sauce + 1/2c ketchup instead of all ketchup, plus added a couple shakes of tabasco. Sweet but tasty (I wish it had been spicier!). I cooked it one day, put it in the fridge overnight and lifted the hardened layer of fat (yuck!) off the top the next day before shredding and re-warming. This step definitely would fix the greasiness other reviewers mentioned.

This recipe is really easy to make. I served it with some potato wedges. It tasted better the next day. I took some to work and the aroma after warming it up fill up the office and everybody wanted some. I gave the recipe to my mother to fix and she said it was so good that needed to fix it more often. This is a keeper

Mmm, really great. My fiance and I both love it. I trim as much fat as possible before cooking and it turns out great.

Really great, easy to make sandwiches. I agree with other reviewers that A mix of half ketchup, half bbq sauce should be used, but other than that we really enjoyed these.

I prepared this for my cooking club and EVERYONE loved it! I made it the following week for hubby and the kids and there were NO leftovers! Like other reviewers I did make a few minor changes. I'm a real big fan of barbecue sauce so I also used 1 cup of barbecue sauce and 1/2 cup of ketchup instead of the 1 and 1/2 cups of ketchup the recipe calls for. We wanted the beef to be spicy, so I added 3-4 teaspoons of hot sauce as well. When serving on rolls, I spread a generous amount of barbecue sauce on each side of the roll and then filled them with the beef. Served with a side of potato salad, these sandwiches made us feel like we were at summer barbecue even though it's fall! This recipe is now a permanent part of my recipe collection!

I was not a fan of this beef. I found it to be somewhat greasy with not a lot of zing to it.

YUMMMMMMMM..... I have made this twice and my son is begging for me to make this again. And I'm not a meat and sandwhich person so the first time I made this I just put my meat over rice but the second time I gave in and tried it on the bun and OMG.. I was blown away! This will definatly be a staple in our house! THANKS!

Boy does this smell wonderful while it's cooking, unfortunately we thought it smelled better than it tasted. I followed the recipe exactly except I used regular vinegar instead of the Red Wine vinegar that the recipe called for, because that's all I had on hand. Don't get me wrong it wasn't awful but it wasn't great either, just OK. My 13 year old liked it but I think it's because he likes just about anything that is sweet, and this is pretty sweet. I guess too sweet for my husband and I.

Mmm Mmm Mmm! I have never made BBQ Beef before. I was looking for a recipe for my parent's 35th wedding anniversary party. I thought...what the heck. I made it the day before and just reheated it. Well let's just say...I couldn't even have licked the crock pot clean! I underestimated how much I needed, that's for sure! Thanks for such a yummy recipe!

I have used this recipe for years and it is by far the best BBQ around. One slight modification: I use 1 cup Gates BBQ sauce and 1/2 cup ketchup. Many thanks Corwynn, for this and other fantastic recipes.
