Original Recipe Yield 1 10-inch tube cake
 

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups diced bananas
  • 1 cup corn oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Measure flour, sugar, soda, cinnamon, and salt, and sift together.
  2. Dice bananas and add to dry ingredients with oil ,vanilla, eggs, raisins, water, and nuts. Pour into a greased 10-inch tube pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 1/2 hour or until done. Cool on rack before removing.
