A wonderful combination of sweet and salty! These are definitely a rich, savory treat that I wouldn't do all the time but once in a while you just have to splurge. Although it seems like a odd pairing of ingredients, this really does come together very nicely. Next time I might try apples vs. bananas - this definitely is a case of do't knock it 'til ya try it!
An unusual but tasty combination. These sandwiches are very rich, but they hit the sweet and salty combo that I love.
Whew, rich is the key word here, and I only ate half a croissant, BUT it was delicious (and totally decadent). Maybe even spread some peanut butter on the top half of the croissant to put it w-a-a-a-y over the top?? Not something I would eat everyday, as it is an indulgence, for sure. I think this would be a fabulous brunch item served on the mini/cocktail-size croissants.
Saw a similar dish at a restaurant was a little scared to order it as a dinner entree... made this at home, OMG, it's really good. I could eat this morning, noon and night.
