This is my go-to muffin recipe. Please try the first time without messing with it at all. Then if you want to add or replace, go ahead, but it's 5 star as is. I have probably reviewed this before, but they are so wonderful they deserve more than 5 stars!

Changes, for the 1/3 oil, I used 1/2 butter and 1/2 olive oil. The rest I followed with some extra cinnamon in the batter. Baked in 6 large muffins and 12 mini muffins, the mini muffins were too dry after 18min but the large muffins were perfect moist after 20min. The brown sugar on the crust was a little bit burned. This is the most moist banana muffin EVER! loved it! only on con: it's got this metal after taste, maybe it's the baking powder, but I already use a AL free ones... weird

Perfect cupcakes! These are the best I have ever made-or even bought from a bakery. I followed the recipe exactly. Please, nobody make any changes. Thank you, Lisa Kreft, for the perfect cupcake recipe!

Made this yesterday, but used loaf pan instead so I could slice and then toast and butter the next day for breakfast. Had it this morning, came out great!! Time in oven increased to about 40 minutes or so. Thanks for submitting this recipe Lisa.

I added 1/2 cup chopped pecans to the muffin ingredients and about a tablespoon of pecans to the crumb topping. Recipe made exactly 10 muffins. The family loves them.

my boyfriend found them too sweet. i was appalled-- too sweet for him!!? i had no idea there was such a category of foods. i'd cut down on the granulated sugar in the muffins themselves and keep the topping though-- he likes the topping.
