very easy to follow recipe. its in the over as i type. i love the aroma coming from the oven filling my whole house. my second loaf and its very rich in flavor, although i used overly riped bananas to get the full sweet flavor out of them. really good. definetly keeping this one

This is the best banana bread recipe I've found. I usually use a bit more banana than recommended, otherwise I follow the recipe as listed. Occasionally it does need to cook a bit longer than the specified hour. Yummy!

This is a delicious recipe. I was amazed at how moist and tasty it was. Not dry at all. I brought it to my office and everyone just loved it. Thanks to the author for posting. This is definitely a 'keeper' and it's going right into my recipe box! Marianne

Thank you! I needed a banana bread recipes with out brown sugar, sort of lacking in the pantry. I took some advice from another reviewer and added 1 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp of nutmeg plus 1 tsp vanilla. It turned out heavy and moist with a slight kick from the cinnamon. love it!

6 year old says, "It was the best banana bread I've ever tasted! I love it!" 8 year old says, "It's pretty good, just needed to be a little more moist". 26 year old says, "It was very yummy. We did add cinnamon and vanilla which gave a great little extra taste. We used 4 regular sized bananas, but maybe next time we'll use 5. Oh, and one hour should be enough time to bake even with 5 bananas if you want it a little moist.

Unbeleivable....this has the texture, taste, crust, and flavor of a perfect banana bread! Soooooooo moist, and I've tried a lot of recipes. Plus, it makes a generous sized loaf.Just make sure the bananas are mashed with a fork,...pureed bananas make foe a soggy loaf.Thak you!

This banana bread was possibly the best I have ever tasted. I did add about 3/4 cup of strawberries just to change it up a bit and the super sweet banana bread and the sweet/tart taste of the strawberries made it fantastic. I will be using this recipe alot!

Following others advice, I modified just a bit: 1/2 C brown and 1/2 c white sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp vanilla, 3 mashed bananas, 2 eggs, and a bit more salt. This is super easy and delicious.

An incredible recipe... sooo good and dense. I found it a bit dry so I like to add slightly more banana to keep it moist!

I loved this recipe! I'm 18 and this was my first loaf from scratch ( sounds bad I know ). My dad being an excellent cook couldn't stop eating it and for the first time didn't want to share with his friends at work lol.

This was very good as written, but I liked it better when I used canola oil in place of butter.

My favorite part of this website other than the recipes are the helpful reviews. The addition of the vanilla as some members suggested improves this loaf. This is a good banana bread. One to hang onto.

This was delicious. I didn't have eggs on hand so I substituted 2 TBS cornstarch and 2 TBS water for 1 egg. Even with this modification it came out moist and wonderful. My kids ate it up!

I made this bread yesterday with the recommendations/changes of other reviews and I was a tad bit disappointed. The flavor was great (I added 2 teaspoons of vanilla, a teaspoon of cinnamon, chopped pecans, and used 3 fairly large ripe bananas for a big banana taste). The bread was not moist at all and I even did mommyinseattle's suggestion of covering the bread for half an hour with aluminum foil right after it came out of the over(i think it cooked it more)! I added 2 eggs like others suggested, but next time I will only use 1 hoping that will make a difference. I give this recipe 4 stars because I loved the appearance of the bread (beautiful color and rise), it made our house smell amazing, and there was a sweet-vanilla-banana flavor to the bread. What I didn't like was that is came out so dry BUT I will definitely attempt this again because of all the other stellar reviews hoping that the second time around is better and more moist!

Asolutely the best banana bread I have ever eaten! I added a teaspoon of vanilla and used butter but those were the only changes I made. The bread is moist, very flavorful and my husband loved it as much as I did.
