This recipe was very good and turned out great. I substituted half Splenda, half sugar instead of 1 cup of sugar. It wasn't noticable. I also added a half cup of walnuts. Very good and simple recipe.

This is my favorite banana bread recipe on this site because it is so good, simple, and quick to put together. It doesn't call for a whole lot of ingredients or complicated process, but it sure makes a good old fashioned banana bread. I usually toss in raisins or chopped dates if I don't have walnuts/pecans. Other things I have added with wonderful results are chopped maraschino cherries or shredded coconut. Although the bread bakes for one hour, it is always very moist. House smells great during the last 15 minutes it bakes. This banana breadhas become one of my husband's favorite treats. It's the only banana bread recipe I use now. Tasty!

Excellent recipe! Everyone commented on how moist it was. After my brother in law said "its soo moist" he turned to his wife and said "this is how banana bread is supposed to be". Also, my 10 year nephew wants me to make him his OWN banana bread. Like a lot of people, I also added an extra banana (total of 4), 1/2 t. baking powder, 1/2 t. cinnamon and 1 t. vanilla. I baked it at 350 for 40 minutes in a 9x5 loaf pan (I didn't have the size suggested in the recipe). After 40 mins, I placed a foil tent over the pan and lowered the heat to 250 degrees for approximately 20 minutes. Definitely a keeper!

My first attempt at banana bread, and I'm imressed! The recipe filled one 9x5 pan quite nicely. I used half brown sugar as others did. Next time I will try substituting some applesauce in place of butter as others recomended to make it even healthier!

I thought this recipe was fantastic. I love to cook, but I am not a baker. It was super-easy and tasted wonderful. I also added the cinnamon, vanilla, and 1/2 c. of brown sugar. I only baked it for 45 minutes and it was perfect.

I thought this bread was dry and didn't have much flavor. I cooked it for 55 minutes instead of an hour and it still tasted overcooked.

Like others I added 1/2 t. cinnamon, 1/2 t. baking powder, 1 t. vanilla extract, split the sugar into 1/2 c. of white and 1/2c. of brown. I also added 4 bananas instead of 3 to give it more of a banana taste! It was incredibly moist!!! The entire pan was gone in less than an hour...definitely will be keeping this recipe!

Wonderful! Possibly the best banana bread I've ever had. Like others, I added 1/2 t. cinnamon, 1/2 t. baking powder, 1 t. vanilla extract, split the sugar in to 1/2 c. of white and brown sugar, and I used 1 c. of all purpose flour with 1/2 c. whole wheat flour. I also cut the butter in half and substituted with applesauce. Sometimes making these healthier cuts into your baking also means you have to cut out on the taste, but this proportion worked perfectly! A little bit healthier and it was gone before it was finished cooling on the cooling rack! I guess I better make some more...

I used this recipe twice - both times i added the 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp vanilla, and adjusted the sugar to 1/2 cup white and 1/2 cup brown. The first time I added an extra banana but it came out too mushy. The second time I kept it at 3 bananas and it came out PERFECT. Im a college student and my roommates hovered around the oven while it baked and ate it up as soon as it came out! I also had the bigger loaf pan so I adjusted the temperature to 350 for 30 min and 300 for another 30 min. It still burned a little on a the edges so I may fiddle around with the time and temp a bit more. Overall, a perfect recipe!

I substituted the butter with 1 cup vanilla yogurt and added 1 cup chocolate chips. Came out super moist and not too sweet. Would use mini chocolate chips next time since they all sunk to the bottom of the bread.

I used 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 brown sugar, added 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. vanilla, and 1/2 tsp cinnamin and did not add any butter (to cut the fat), so instead I added 1 more banana. I cooked it for 50 minutes and it came out absolutely perfect!!!
