Tastes exactly how I remember it. I did have to use a bit more butter than the recipie asked for. Probably because I got a little happy buttering all the layers. Other than that it was wonderful!

I admit to being a bit of a baklava addict. This is one of the best I've ever had, and so easy to make. Even my Greek boss admitted it was better than his.

this baklava was so good. The only thing was that it feel apart while you were eating it, but I am sure that is because of something I did wrong.

Very easy to make and tasts SOOO good! Hard to not eat the whole tray at once lol I think the next time I make it I might put a few extra layers of phyllo to make it thicker - but that's a personal preference.

Unfortunately these were a big let down. I recently returned from Antalya Turkey, I had Baklava everyday for 2 weeks and they were the best I had ever eaten, I had Baklava in Rhodes Greece 15 years ago which was the first time I tried it, as I had nothing to compare it to I thought they were great, but having made this recipe with phylo bought from the grocery store, I can tell you it is way off what the Turks use, Turkish Baklava is made with dough alot thinner than phylo evey other country seem to use. "looking through the Turkish dough is like looking through a net curtain" someone said. and it is true, the Baklava there has so many layers of ultra thin phylo, it is almost like puff pastry, with regular phylo you literally feel every layer of pastry as you bite as it is so thick. I know this recipe does not claim to be Turkish, it claims to be Greek, so for that I will give it 2 stars, If you ever get the chance to try Turkish Baklava, I assure you, you will notice the difference, and it is alot better.

I used to be able to get these perfect two bite packages of Baklava at my favorite "gourmet" grocery but did not see them as of late, so thought I might try my hand at making them myself. Am I glad I did, and I found the easiest recipe at Allrecipes.com! I used a combination of half toasted pistachios and half toasted pecans. I ran them through a hand nut grinder, then pulsed them all a few times in the food processor with the cinnamon so they were a finer consistency. I baked mine a little too long....45 minutes and they got a tad brown but the taste was spot on. My husband couldn't stay away from them! I have to concur with another baker who said they found the filo easier to handle when the sheets were dried out a little. If you work at a good speed brushing your filo and adding the nuts, the dough will not dry out that much. Also, I think the key to this recipe is using the right size of filo dough, look for something that indicates "fine and silky," the optimum size is #4 Filo.. And to cut triangles, cut three rows down the long side, turn the pan around and cut the bars in half, and then in half again and you should have 12 perfect squares that you can cut into perfect little diamonds. ...To cut diamonds, start at a corner, and cut diagnoally outward until the entire pan has been cut across, then cut down lengthwise a few times, till the diamonds are the size you desire. This was seriously delicious!

While not the best my wife has tried it was most certainly deserving of 4.5 stars. Since we don't have that option then I rounded to 5. This was most certainly a wonderful dessert and my wife adores it. Thanks for the recipe!

I shared this with 4 people and I got 4 "OMG"s!!! My husband had baklava for the first time a month ago while away and has been searching for a restaurant locally that has it. I surprised him by making this recipe. I followed the ingredients exactly and it came out sooo good! I only had to bake it for 35 minutes though. I used half almonds and half pecans. YUM! He said it was better than the restaurant one!

AWESOME recipe! I follow it to a "T" and it turns out perfect every time. Whenever I take this somewhere - three things happen: 1) people think I'm some sort of brilliant cook, 2)everyone asks for the recipe, 3) there are never any leftovers. A definite keeper!

it was a huge success. I`m from the middle east where u can find the Baklava at any bakery, but this one is really better than any Baklava I have ever had . I used 2 cups of walnut and 2 of pecan but I think the butter is tooooooooo much I used just 1/2 cup of butter and it was fairly enough.

I followed the recipe as is, making sure I didn't over spread butter on each layer. Big hit at work. I will make again it's easier than it appears when reading the recipe.

Great recipe.... easy to make... made some minor changes to it.. I added pumpkin pie seasoning and cinnamon to the nut mix, I think next time I would grind the nuts because I found that chopped nuts are too chunky, I doubled the sauce amount because the amount the recipe calls for seemed like not enough and I highly recommend the use of plastic wrap over the phyllo dough prior to placing the damp cloth over the dough to avoid from the dough tearing.. I think next time I will use some middle eastern spices for an authentic taste per the recommendation of my mother in law.
