Wow! DELICIOUS! I took the suggestions of others and made the sauce first then allowed to cool in the fridge before pouring it over the baklava right out of the oven. I didn't believe it could be that good with so few ingredients, boy was I wrong. Even my husband was in awe when he tried a small bite that I was willing to give up. The rest waits for Thanksgivings guests (hold me back!)

I just made these today and it came out perfect. This was my first time making it and this recipe is very easy. I think 50 min though may have been a little long. The bottom of the baklava was a little over cooked. Next time I will take it out as soon as it is golden brown. Maybe about 30-35 min.

Absolutely delish! I've never used phyllo pastry before, but it was actually pretty easy to use. It'll be another special event item.

Baklava is not the easiest dessert to make. This recipe was very tasty and it came out good. I will make it again.

Ok, now I know why they charge so much for baklava at the restaurants, lol!! This recipe is AMAZING just as written, but I think I will never look at Phyllo dough the same way again because it was very taxing to work with. Though a bit time consuming, this is a wonderful creation and the directions were very thorough (thank you for that). I used pecans because that is what we had in the house and followed the instructions exactly as indicated. Everyone is raving about how good it is!! Thank you again for sharing!! :)

It has been a great seller for fund raising and I have made this recipe dozens of times. Many of the Greeks my husband works with say it tastes like the "real thing".

I just made this and it was a hit. I had tasted baklava a few years ago and loved it. The only difference from those and these is that these ones just weren't very goowie though so next time I will double the sauce. I followed someones review to cut almost to the bottom and not completely and making the sauce before and letting it cool before putting it on the hot baklava. It was pretty simple to assemble and I only dabbed a little butter on each layer instead of being generous with it and it helped make it nice and crispy. Very good though but needs more sauce.

Phenomenal recipe! My family, friends and co-workers LOVED it. I do toast/roast the nuts (pistachios and walnuts) and add a little nutmeg along with the cinnamon. Do make sure to only cut half way through before baking -- it makes a world of difference in the texture! THANKS AGAIN!
