Great! Tastes fine with less cheese, I used just enough to cover the layers. And I didn't use the pork sausage, I just used another half pound of ground meat.

This was delicious! Sometimes I worry when I try a new baked ziti recipe that it will be dry. This was not dry at all. It was very creamy. The flavor was terrific. This recipe is a keeper for my family.

I really enjoyed this recipe. I made the sauce from scratch, of course, using "World's best pasta sauce" from the site, and substituted ricotta for the cottage cheese. I also followed another reviewer's suggestion of mixing the cheeses and sour cream, because my ricotta was less than spreadable. The dish came out with a golden brown blanket of provalone and poured out an appetizing aroma. I found the dish paired well with a Heineken to offset the richness of the cheeses, and Sour Cream and Onion Lays on the side really made this dish unforgettable. Don't miss this one if you like Italian!

Our family has become known for this ziti recipe - we are always asked to bring it and take it every year to the outer banks for vacation. I am always asked for the recipe and am more than happy to point them to this site. I've made various changes over the years but regardless of what I do, it's always delicious! This is most definitely THE BEST Baked Ziti recipe - HANDS DOWN. Yummmmmmmmmm!

This is the best ziti pasta I have had. I made this as written and it turned out delicious! Next time I might cover it while baking as another reviewer suggested but it was good as-is. I will not look for another recipe for baked Ziti! Thanks!

Two thumbs way up! It's an easy way to make a classic. My Fiance' couldn't eat enough of it. The only thing I changed was putting a full pound of each meat (we're meat lovers), came out wonderfull. Easily a family fave.

Made so many times. Always excellent. I use skim ricotta with an egg and parsley mixed in instead of cottage cheese. FF sour cream and skim cheeses work. Drain meat and pasta well.

This recipe was just ok. I used ricotta instead of cottage cheese like other reviewers and my own homemade sauce. The sour cream just didn't do it for me.

The best! Really good a total family favorite. Substituted ground turkey for ground meat, and used lowfat sour cream and cottage cheese, soo good!

Finally! A pasta dish that my whole family will eat, even my picky 4 year old. The only thing I altered on this was I substituted the rosemary with Italian seasoning. I made it with the rosemary first and thought it was too overpowering. This recipe makes a lot! I'm premaking this and freezing it for when I have company over the holidays.

This recipie was the first that I ever looked up on this site. I heard baked ziti referenced a few times on TV so I though I would try it. WOW. This is a great recipie. Honestly, I have tweaked it every way, and used original and its always good. My Husband always says "this is the best ziti ever." All based on this recipie. Thanks for sharing.

My husband LOVES this recipe! He asks for it about every other week. It is great how it is, but I think that it can be a little dry after it cooks (my husband thinks it is perfect), so this last time I made it I added a little more sauce than it called for and I thought it was great! We make it all the time!

Pretty generic ziti. I did use ricotta instead of cottage cheese and 16oz of an italian cheese blend in place of the provolone and mozzarella. I sauteed the onion and garlic with 1/2 a green pepper, then added the meat following by the simmering part with 2 jars of a tomato & basil sauce. I did add some italian seasoning, red pepper and cumin to the simmering mix. I then beat an egg and added the cheeses & sour cream all together. Once the meat sauce and pasta was done, I then just mixed it all together and tossed it into a casserole. I topped the casserole with freshly grated parmesan and baked it as called for in the recipe. Oh and I used whole wheat rotini. Definitely comfort food, although I think I like the recipe on this site for Ziti III better.

OMG!! This is wonderful. I made this yesterday for my daughter's cultural Thanksgiving feast. The kids LOVED it. Most went back for seconds and I got many compliments from both kids and parents. The only thing I did different from what the recipe called for is that I did not have fresh rosemary and I did not want to buy it for just this recipe I used dried rosemary. I will be making this again for my family when they are visting for Christmas. Thank you for sharing!
