I'm not a very good cook usually and I was able to make this! I used fake meat crumbles to turn this dish vegetarian and my boyfriend said he couldn't even tell the difference! I also used Colby Jack cheese instead of provolone and added some chopped green peppers and some extra seasoning to the sauce. I halved the recipe because it was just for the two of us and we still have leftovers. I don't like ricotto cheese so I wouldn't even think about changing to that. The sour cream worked out wonderfully, even though I was skeptical! I couldn't even tell it was in there really! I will be adding this into our rotation of dishes. I can't wait to cook it for other people too!

Oh my gosh - my family loves this! And it's so easy! I have made it with and without meat, and I actually prefer without.

I've made this a few times now and it's really good. I think, for me, to make it a five star I will exchange the sour cream for ricotta cheese.

When I was planning meals for our vacation at the beach this year, I took this recipe with me. Excellent recipe! It was quick to put together and fed a crowd who all enjoyed it. I did put a little of the sauce mixture on the bottom first....my only recipe change.

this recipe was good. but maybe some spices would have made it a little better. It was really simple though and I really had no complates from the family.

My husband LOVES baked ziti- When I showed him the recipe he seemed a little skeptical about the sour cream. I used Ragu Tradional Old World Style sauce NO MEAT but I did sautee the onion and garlic in EVOO first before adding the sauce and I added about 2 TBS smart balance to the sauce as well.-(Helps to reduce the acidity of the sauce and takes the flavor to another level) I followed the advice of other reviews and mixed the sour cream with the noodles and MY HUSBAND LOVED IT. He said it was the BEST ZITI HE EVER HAD. (He is a wonderful cook himself) DONT BE SCARED TO USE THE SOUR CREAM- its what makes this recipe truly AMAZING!! Try it - you will not regret it!

This was really good. The only difference is that I always make my own red sauce I make it with a package of sweet and a package of spicy italian sausage instead of ground meat. Other than that there was nothing changed. This recipe makes a lot and it will be made again. Thanks for this great recipie.

This got rave reviews at my house. I did toss in some diced Italian sausage that I had leftover from earlier in the week. Wow!

It had a bit more sauce in it than I generally like, but I enjoyed this. Instead of ground beef I used Italian sausage.

I make a low fat version of this. We use ground turkey, fat free sour cream, and low fat cheeses. I usually cut the recipe in half but double the meat sauce cuz that's how we like it :) and add some extra tomatoes and shredded carrots. Also add sauce to the bottom layer. This is a really great dish to feed a crowd.

This recipe was great! I used ground turkey and Italian sausage, and it came out great. Not too salty either, my little brother loved it--and that's an indicator for me that it's a keeper. Thanks so much for sharing!

Incredible. The sour cream is a fantastic compliment to the rest of the ingredients. A+ I halved the recipe as I only had to feed myself and my boyfriend, and I can't wait for the leftovers tonight!! Thank you for this recipe.

My boys freaked over this and are wondering when they can have it again! Made as directed....might try more sauce on the bottom layer, for personal preference, but as is, super tasty, super easy and super great leftovers (it makes A LOT!)

I have to admit, I never made this recipe exactly as written. I took the advice of a couple of the other reviewers and it turned out really good...definitely a keeper recipe! Here are the changes I made and the specific brand names we prefer... We love the Newman's Own Cabernet Marinara sauce and Sargento brand cheeses so that's what I used. Also, we like our dishes nice and cheesy so I used more than what the recipe called for and I decreased the onion because my husband only likes subtle onion in his food. I mixed the sauce and pasta together before putting it in the baking dish. I layered in this order: 1/2 the pasta & sauce mixture, 8 oz of sliced provolone (instead of 6 oz), the sour cream, the other 1/2 of the pasta & sauce mixture, 4 cups of shredded mozzarella & provolone (instead of 6 oz). I used a baking dish that was deeper than a regular Pyrex dish so all the pasta would fit. I baked it covered with foil for 20 minutes so it wouldn't dry out and then uncovered for an additional 10 minutes because I like the cheese to get a little brown. It turned out moist and delicious. I served it with Ceasar salad and garlic bread I made out of leftover hot dog buns. My guests gobbled it up and everyone had seconds (some thirds). Everyone loved it. This is definitely a keeper recipe.

I made this as a side dish without the ground beef. I was amazed at how flavorful t was! My husband went for seconds. I never would have thought to add sour cream, but I think it added a nice creaminess to the dish. Bravo! Well created recipe!

Good, I was a little short on ingredients (provalone) and time, but I used sliced mozzarella and it was very good, I will experiment with the flavor a little since it was a tad bit bland, could have been my jarred sauce. Also cut it in half and could have made even less it made more than I was expecting.

Boyfriend went nuts over this recipe. I thought it tasted good but he went on about it for the rest of the night. I followed the recipe almost exactly. I just added minced garlic with the onion and hamburger while it was browning.
