I LOVE baked ziti! This was a nice, easy version for me to adapt to my family's preferences, and was also inexpensive to make. I used rotini noodles (easier for my little ones to get on a fork), omitted meat & provolone (for cost), and mixed noodles & sauce together prior to baking, as others suggested. I also covered the pan with foil up to the last 10 minutes, and it wasn't dry. I'll be making this often. I was leery since there were no added spices, but it was still very flavorful. I'll try it with provolone next time.

My family loved this recipe! I added some spinach to the sauce as well to get a little "green" in there and it was perfect!

My boyfriend loved it. I think it might taste better with ricotta instead of sour cream.

Great recipe! I make this just as written, but I use hot Italian sausage instead of ground beef, and I make three layers instead of two.

Used fat free sour cream, no meat and a fast saute of mushrooms, yellow onions and garlic which I added to Emeril's Gahhhlic and Eggplant pasta sauce. Used real (stinky delicious) block of provolone which I grated. Layered the ingredients with the sauce first/next to pasta. OMG!!! Rockin' perfect! Glad I made 4 separate gratin dishes of this... I will savor them all!

Good Stuff!! Sour Cream was wonderful, would have never thought. I mixed sauce and noodles first then layered as described, worked great. I did add some Italian Sausage

This is TOO good. I didn't think that I would like it with sour cream and I was tempted to try Ricotta cheese. I decided to follow the recipie exactly and I'm SO GLAD that I did. This is a keeper and I will make this often!

Absolutely the BEST baked ziti ever. I omit the ground beef because we are vegetarian, still fabulous!

I made a half-batch, as it was for one person, and I thought it was delicious! I used the "ground beef" made by Morningstar, to make the dish vegetarian, and it worked wonderfully. I would recommend using a little less sour cream than what the recipe calls for, but overall, this was a great meal.

Family loved this one. Next time we will mix the noodles and sauce like suggested by others. Remember to cover the dish with foil, we did not know to do that. We will be making this again!

Awesome! My two and three year old gobbled this up and asked for more. Use a deep 9 x 13 pan. It wouldn't all fit in my pan. I made it according to the recipe and the provolone didn't let the sauce settle into the pan and fill in around the noodles. So next time I think I'll layer the cooked ziti, then the sauce and then the provolone, etc... Next time I think I might try using minced garlic with the onion.

I love this dish. It's easy to make and it tastes delicious. I usually mix the sauce and ziti together to make sure everything is coated before putting it in the pan. This another recipe that the picky eaters in my family love. I've made it for large gatherings of 15 to 20 people or just for the four of us. It's very versatile. :-)

Fantastic! Took this to a dinner with friends; they made me leave the left-overs! Just a note- this recipe makes a huge amount, next time I may cut the recipe in half. I did add about 3 cloves of chopped garlic, some basil & oregano; otherwise left the original recipe as written. This one's a keeper!
