Excellent! These are GREAT for salads or just to snack on. I tell my kids they're "soy fries" and they love them!

Well, I was all set to give this recipe three stars--decent flavor, but a little too intense for my taste--but my two-year-old LOVED this stuff. That's worth another star all by itself. Next time I will leave out the liquid smoke and add an extra Tbsp. of maple syrup to balance the soy sauce better. I also had to roast these about 10 minutes longer than suggested to get a good texture on the outside. Will make this again and again, playing with the marinade each time probably.

good flavor, but my boyfriend and i agreed: a bit too salty. maybe it needs something like honey or sugar to take some of the soy sauce zing out?

OMG!!!!! Even I can do this one! Skipped the liquid smoke just 'cause never thrilled with that taste, and was out of hot sauce; but will add on the next round! Used low sodium soy and didn't nead to add salt. Biggest seller, my 9 year old carnivor loved it and he HATES EVERYTHING!

I enjoyed this, even though I messed up and didn't have time to bake it slowly as directed. I only used 1 TBS of regular (Ms Butterworth's) syrup...and SEVERAL dashes of hot sauce (Cholula hot sauce...it's not as hot as tabasco) very tasty

I followed the recipe exactly, and added some fresh ginger. I thought it was delicious! I was skeptical because before cooked, the sauce smells gross and unappetizing. Once cooked, it smells delicious! I served this over rice. When I took it out of the oven, all the sauce had absorbed into the tofu, so it was "dry" but flavorful. I will certainly make this again!

I was excited to try this recipe. I loved the sesame seeds. However, I halved the marinade and it was still too much. It was saltier than I wanted, but I'm notorious for my salt aversion. I think I would prefer a ginger based marinade to this soy based marinade.

My family does not eat a lot of tofu dishes....but this one is wonderful. I wanted to make something besides meat for a change and this has been a regular dish for us for several years. I always use Bragg Liquid Aminos instead of soy sauce (it cuts the sodium significantly). The taste is identical to soy.

So easy, healthy and delicious! What can be better? I followed the other reviewers advice and left out the liquid smoke thingy but I also improvised because I didn't have some of the ingredients. Instead of ketchup, I used the same amount of jar pasta sauce, a drizzle of sesame oil and a sprinkling of black sesame seeds in addition to the white ones. I will definitely repeat this again but I was just wondering, is it supposed to turn out a bit crunchy? Mine turned out not crunchy but I think that might be due to me piling up the marinated tofu on the baking sheet instead of carefully arranging them in a single layer...

These are really good - I find it help to freeze the tofu, let it thaw, "squeeze" out as much excess water as possible and marinate the cubes until the entire marinade is absorbed. I also recommend baking them about 1/2 hour. Very tasty.

Great recipe, but leave out the smoke flavoring, add 5-6 dashes hot sauce (if you like things spicy), and use 1-2 fresh grated garlic cloves instead of powder, and lots more sesame seeds! My little ones won't eat it, but my picky teenagers both loved it! We serve it with sweet chili sauce, yummm! Great recipe for our family who's trying to go vegan! With the changes I made it's Five star for us!

I was really excited about this recipe but after tasting it I was not pleased with the results. I love tofu, I eat it plain, in burgers, and all kinds of other things... but I won't make this again. I followed the recipe exactly, omitting only the smoked flavor. No doubt some people here do like the flavor... I really did try to like it.

I thought this was pretty good! After reading reviews I doubled everything except the soy sauce, and I also omitted the liquid smoke (don't like it) and added 2 cloves minced garlic to the marinade. Marinated for an hour, then plopped everything on a baking sheet and flipped/stirred it a few times while baking, so the extra marinade would coat the tofu and hopefully carmelize better than what other reviewers were suggesting. Also, upped the temp to 400 degrees for the last five minutes to try to get it to dry out some more. (Note: Watch closely! Burns easilty!) Made a mess of my baking sheet, but I did manage to get a few pieces with crispy edges, which is what I was shooting for. Other than that, flavor and texture of tofu was excellent. Went nicely with sesame broccoli.
