This was a great recipe! Even my 2 & 5 year olds enjoyed it. I added garlic powder and pepper to the flour mixture and served it with egg noodles. FABULOUS!

I have to admit, I did not much like this steak at all. Probably just personal preference versus that this recipe is necessarily "bad". I couldn't even bring myself to eat the leftovers.

I made this for my family of 6 and it was a huge hit! My husband said it was the best swiss steak he'd ever had. I quadrupled the recipe and none of it went to waste and it warmed up well the next day. This is now a family favorite. Thank you so much for sharing.

Fantastic Recipe! It is very versatile and can be altered based on your family tastes. I cooked this in the crockpot for about 8 hours on low (just add the cheese after taking the meat out at the end). The meat was SO tender. I would suggest adding more spice. A packet of onion soup and some italian seasoning are great additions! We omitted celery and added green pepper. We serve ours over simple white rice and a garden salad on the side.

Tasty recipe and definitely a plus that I can throw it in the oven and do something else for 2 hours. We added some quartered mushrooms about 30 minutes before the timer was up, and omitted the cheese.

This was tasty. My boyfriend really enjoyed the flavors but I think that I just didnt like the way that swiss steak tastes. It wasnt bad at all. I served with broccoli and pasta. I would try it again but with a different type of steak for sure. Thanks!

My family loved this dinner. The only thing I did differently was increase vegetable measurements, add 2 Tbs onion soup mix, and used top sirloin steaks. I also served it over white rice instead of noodles.

Everyone in my family, including 2 picky kids and a toddler, really liked this. I changed it to 6 servings, which, by the way, only needed 2 cans of tomatoes. This was the perfect amt. for a large 15x11 in. dish. Because some reviews said this was a little bland, I increased the amount of onion called for and added: a clove of garlic, some bell pepper, and a beef bouillon cube. It turned out really flavorful and not bland at all. It was also very tender and moist. I would suggest to those who said it was dry to make sure dish is covered tightly (I used foil) and make sure meat is covered in the tomato mixture.

Very good recipe, exactly what I was looking for... I added a couple cloves of garlic to the sauce for personal preference... YUM! Also, don't know if it was just my pan or steaks or what, but after 1 1/2 hours, the steak kinda dried out. Next time, I'll start checking around an hour.

I can see why its your husband's favorite, Dolores. The steak came out moist and tender and very delicious. I used stewed tomatoes in basil and garlic. Added 1 clove minced garlic, 1t beef bouillon granules and upped the Worcestershire sauce to 1t for a more earthy flavor. Because of personal preference, left off the cheese. Thanks for sharing.

Loved this recipe!! The family really enjoyed it and it was easy to make. I added a packet of McCormick swiss steak seasoning and three large portabella mushroom caps sliced. Even the baby ate two servings!

Very easy and very yummy! My fussy 4 year old and 20 month old ate it too! I added garlic powder, pepper, and paprika to the flour mixture. I also added bell pepper. Super tender and moist. Will make again!

My mom used to make swiss steak when I was a kid, and I came online searching for a recipe like hers. This one was very close! I used thinly sliced sirloin, and doubled the recipe for a family of four. Meat was fall-apart tender after 1 hr in a convection oven. I served it over homemade egg noodles.

Good ...... very tender ....... had it over mashed potatoes ..... my husband liked it a lot ..... usually doesn't like the 'round steak thing' ..... but he would definitely have it again!
