Excellent! We used real bacon instead of bacon bits, both times we made this. I'm sure it improved the flavor. It was wonderful and adults and children enjoyed it! Thank you for a great recipe!!

Really good. Unlike most potato soup recipes, this did not taste like "dressed up mashed potatoes". I will make this again.

I thought this was good. I subbed non fat milk, reduced fat cheese and reduced fat sour cream with no problem. I cut down on the butter & flour to about 1/2 cup each beacuse other reviews had said the soup was thick. It was still really thick so I added some water.

I have tried several potato soup recipes from this site and this has been the best so far. I was a bit skeptical about microwaving the potatoes but it was great and super easy! I used real bacon and fat free milk (b/c that's what we had). This is a keeper!

Very satisfying. I used 5 large russet (baked) potatoes. I carved out the insides as well as added some skin into the soup. I also used 4 cups of 1% low-fat milk and 2 cups of chicken broth and used less cheese (8oz instead of 10oz). Family loved it. Definitely a keeper!

This is the best potato soup i've ever had! And I am picky. It's so thick and delicious and the best part is that it's relatively easy. you could microwave or bake the potatoes in the oven. And i always try potato soup when i get the chance and i've yet to find one better than this recipe!

Great and so easy to make!!! Thank you!!! There is only one thing I did differently. The soup was a bit too thick so I added another cup of milk than what was called. Overall great recipe!

This is a very good soup. My family all loved it. Like many of the others have previously stated, it is very thick...especially after it has been refrigerated overnight and reheated the next day. I am going to cut the butter and flour in half the next time to see if this helps. I think it should.

I love this soup. This is the second time I have made it. The first I followed the recipe exactly except using 2% milk as opposed to whole, so I am sure that is why it was not as rich as it was for others. This time I adjusted the "toppings" to my family's taste... double cheese, bacon, and onion!! I freeze half and get about 6 servings within the half. Its great to have on hand when you don't feel like cooking. The only thing I will say is that I added way more salt and some garlic powder. Do yourself a favor and make the full calorie version at least once!

this was a good soup, but i felt it turned out a little bland in flavor, I tried adding a little garlice powder and some extra pepper. family enjoyed and we had enough for lunch the next day.... note: be sure to make sure the potatoes are cooked thoroughly and completely soft!

Our new family favorite soup. Will never make plain old potato soup again. Definitely don't have to use all that flour and butter! 1/3 c of each is perfect.

This soup is wonderful but you really need to thin it out when heating it up after it's been refrigerated. I thinned it with a little chicken stock and milk while heating it up. It really sticks to your ribs!!
