This is a delicious recipe - one my entire family will eat. I used bacon bits from the store, since I had that on hand from a previous recipe. Also, I added the sour cream and green onions to each bowl instead of mixing it into the stock pot due to individual family preferences.

I saved some of the bacon grease from frying the bacon and sauteed some additional chopped fresh green onion and garlic before adding the butter and flour. Also, when I baked my potatoes, I drizzled them with EVOO and sprinkled them with steakhouse seasoning salt before baking. Because I did that, I cut back the salt I added to the soup. This soup is the perfect thickness but it really does need a little more seasoning aside from salt/pepper and the steakhouse seasoning salt I used on the potatoes.

Love this recipie. I add some fresh crushed garlic and split the 7 cups milk to 4 cups milk 3 cups half and half.

Awesome soup. I used a little less milk, stick butter, and added chopped green pepper, sauteed the onions, and chicken seasoned in garlic. I would recommend it to anyone. I actually have to make it for the the girl friend's soup day at work. Another note. I changed the servings to 4 persons and it makes at least 6. So be prepared for leftovers.

Delicious! I halved the recipe since it's only me and my husband. Left out the bacon since i'm a vegetarian and added a little more milk to get it to a good consistency. The flavor was really good even without the bacon and it tasted just like a baked potato. We topped off this yummy soup with more cheese, green onions, and vegetarian bacon bits. Thanks for the great recipe!

My family and I love this recipe. I left the skin on, cut them in half and squished them in a bowl. I like the skin and it made it more like a baked potato. Very good!!

As is, it has absolutely no taste. The consistency is fine, but there was no aroma (to me, a sign of no flavor).Needs a lot of pinches of something. :-(

This is a great soup! To make it go farther and reduce the fat content, we substitute one cup milk with 3 cups chicken broth.

My family LOVES this soup! It is by far my favorite soup ever!! It is a common dinner in my household! I love to have leftovers and take it to work the next day for my lunch too!
