This is my go-to baked oatmeal recipe! I make just a few changes: cut sugar in half, substitute applesauce for the melted butter, and add 1/4 cup flaxseed and/or wheat germ. I've never used dried cranberries (I'm thinking this means craisins?) because I don't think I'd like the texture. So we use blueberries (just throw a handful of frozen ones in from the freezer!) or chopped apples (I sautee them in a bit of butter and cinnamon for about 10 minutes to soften while I mix together the other ingredients).

This recipe is fantastic! I cut the recipe in half and added some "fresh" blackberries that I needed to use before they went bad in place of cranberries. Might try with apples and cranberries or other fruits. Next time I will cut back on the brown sugar because it was borderline too sweet for me. I will also try another reviewer's suggestion by using applesauce instead of butter to make it healthier. Very delicious and versatile recipe!

This was beyond great. Been auditioning breakfast recipes for wedding guests. I used chopped dates in place of cranberries as that's what I had. Absolutely delicious. Wedding guests will love them and I'll be free to enjoy the meal with them. I'll make them again. Maybe even in a jelly roll pan to get a crunchy healthy breakfast bar.

Very good. I did 1/4 cup oil & 1/4 cup butter. I also added 1/4c pecans, 2 tbsp flax seed and about 1/2c blueberries. It turned out great!

I made a few changes to make this recipe Weight Watcher's friendly . . . First, I only made 1/2 recipe (4 servings). I cut the brown sugar down to 1/4 cup, used skim milk, and substituted apple sauce for the butter. Even with these changes, it was delicious! Weight Watchers Points Plus = 6 per serving. Not bad!

I just tried this recipe. Tastes really good. A bit too sweet though so next time i will use half the amount of sugar.

This is a great basic recipe and very easy to customize. Like other reviewers, I halve the brown sugar, don't use butter and increase the milk. I make it every Sunday and portion to eat for the rest of the week... it reheats very well.

I made this recipe exactly as written but I used a smaller pan because we just moved and I couldn't fine the right size. I thought the sweetness was perfect, my family loved it! Only problem I have is that it was extremely crumbly...I guess I was thinking it would have more of a "meatloaf" consisty...I will be trying a few tweeks next time....to get lore of texture I was looking for.....but this was AMAZING even my brother who doesn't like oatmeal liked it!

Wow - this recipe alone got me to eat oatmeal!!! My doctor always wanted me to eat this for breakfast for the many health benefits. This version may not be as healthy as plain soggy oatmeal but the texture & taste is to die for! I followed recipe as is, just cutting it in half - there is only one square left - we all loved it, even the dog! I had dried cranberries on hand, which for 1/2 of the recipe, they sell in individual packages (1 oz. each), they were the perfect size. Soooo yummy, so warm - thanks for sharing this - I shared it with my doctor too.
