I have made this recipe three times, and my six children (and picky husband) all love it. We have substituted dried cherries or diced apples for the cranberries. I make this in the evening and refrigerate overnight. Makes mornings easier.

FABULOUS! I love how spicy this is! As suggested in the reviews, I added 1/4 t. cloves, only used 1/2 c. brown sugar, and substituted 1/4 c. melted butter and 1/4 c. applesauce for the 1/2 c. butter. I also added some sweetened flaked coconut and ground flax seed. I will be making this often!

These were too dry and crumbly! A pain to eat and none of the 9 people here liked them. I'll never make them again.

I make this exactly as indicated, except substitute sliced apples for the cranberries because my husband prefers apples. It is VERY good and it's a Sunday morning favorite. Thanks to the review suggesting 1/4 cup butter and 1/2 cup applesauce- I was looking for a lower fat version and now I'm going to try it!

Yummmy! I made this recipe tonight for a snack but I added 1 cup of mashed bananas in, 1 cup light brown sugar instead of regular, 1 tsp. of pumpkin pie spice along with the 2 tsp. of cinnamon, and also 1 cup of very vanilla soymilk. OMG was it good! It was like home-made banana bread but oatmeal! =D

Thought these where just okay. I ended up cutting into bars, wrapping each in plastic wrap and freezing. Re-warmed them for a quick breakfast. I could see where this would be a good addition to a brunch, someone may be interested in a bit of a more healthy choice.

Dang, these were good. I added walnuts and eliminated the cranberries - I'll try freezing the leftovers and taking them for breakfast. Good enough for company brunch. I hope to modify them into something a little healthier, but I always think it's only fair to try a recipe as close to the original as possible.

Loved these. Made a smaller amount so that I could put it in an 8" square pan. Had to wait for it to cool completely for it to hold together. Used a mix of dried apples, apricots, raisins & cranberies. Yum!

This was the first time I made baked oatmeal. I had it for a group of ladies I had over for a Prayer Connection and everyone said they really enjoyed it. Then 2 days later I had my Sister-In-Law (a long time fan of baked oatmeal) and a friend over for some leftovers. My Sister-In-Law said it was the best baked oatmeal she ever had. It was nice and sweet with the brown sugar, and the cranberries just made it a little tart also. I will definitely make it again. It froze well and I just thawed it out and popped it in the microwave.

Tasty and filling! I did "health" this up a bit - used slightly less sugar (about 3/4 cup), skim milk, egg substitute and Smart Balance spread - and I used a combination of cranberries and dried blueberries. Came out a tad bit drier that what I expected, so I either add a bit of milk or a drizzle of honey or syrup to each serving. Might try some sort of fruit sauce, too. I will make again - maybe add some bananas or applesauce for more moisture, though. **** Update: Ok, I'm changing from 4 to 5 stars: Even better the next day! I cut into squares, wrapped individually and froze, then I reheat individual servings in the microwave for 30 seconds and they're delicious!

I made this for my husband and I for a weekend special breakfast and it was loved by both of us. I changed the amount for 4 instead of 8 and we enjoyed this breakfast for several mornings. Would be a great breakfast for family on holidays. Loved it!

Halved the recipe and baked in individual dishes. Baked too long and was very crispy. Cut the time in the future. Good though.

Very good recipe. I made the following changes after reading the other reviews. I reduced the sugar to 1/4 c, used soymilk instead of milk and 1/2 c. applesauce in place of the butter. I also added 1/4 c. chopped walnuts, 1/2 c. chopped fried figs, and 1/2 c. dried cranberries. I put a layer of sliced apples on the bottom of the pan, drizzled them with 1 T. of melted butter and sprinkled with 1 T. of brown sugar, added oatmeal mixture, then added another layer of sliced apple, butter, brown sugar. It was a tad dry so I served it with a drizzle of maple syrup and a dollop of yogurt.

I like to make this the night before and and cut it into squares and have it for breakfast. I warm it up and pour a little milk over it. It is great! I also changed the fruit to peaches. It is very tasty!
