Directions

  1. Position rack in upper third of oven and preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with foil and spray lightly with cooking spray.
  2. Remove cheese from packaging and set aside. In a small bowl, whisk egg until foamy. In small non-stick skillet, mix Italian seasoning with bread crumbs and place over medium heat. Cook and stir bread crumbs until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Dip one piece of string cheese in egg until coated and then into toasted bread crumbs, coating completely. Redip the string cheese in egg and again into the bread crumbs, if desired. Place on baking sheet. Repeat with remaining string cheese and place on baking sheet 1 1/2 inches apart. Spray string cheese lightly with cooking spray.
  4. Bake 5-6 minutes or until heated through. (Cheese may melt slightly and loose shape. Simply press it back into place.)

Yummy! We put our cheese sticks in the freezer until solid before dipping and baking, they didn't melt at all!

These were okay. They didn't crisp up like fried sticks and the cheese started melting out. I won't make them again, as I think these really need to be fried for the breading to cook properly.

complete fail.... tried to repurpose it on the fly, but even that didn't work because of the grease and such. Oh well.

Loved 'em! I attempted these for the 1st time and found that if I 'smoosh' the bread crumb mixture on the cheese sticks, it stays a lot better and creates more of the traditional style. Great for kids!! They will have fun with all the smooshing :)

Definitely needs some tweeking... All melted together and did not crisp up. Most likely not making these again, unless I fry them.

Loved it...but due to people saying they got runny I reduced the heat to 300 and also added some garlic powder for extra flavoring...it was perfect! Will make again! Also used wax paper on the pan and cut the sticks in half if that makes a difference...very good :) family approved!
