I grew up hating kale. Now I look forward to eating it, if it's made this way. The texture is really nice, with such a light crispness that it shatters and practically disintegrates in an instance. My 4 yr old would eat all of the baked kale chips if we let him. My 1 yr old with only 2 teeth gets mad if we don't give it to him quickly enough when he points to it. These are great "munchies," perfect for snacking or accompanying burgers or sandwiches. I use more seasonings than the recipe calls for, "eye-balling" it rather than measuring. I also hand-toss the kale with the oil and seasonings in a bowl, before placing on the pan. My whole family loves this stuff.

The are really good! I used spray extra virgin olive oil and steak seasoning. The trick is to cook them just right. They are really good when cooked to perfection. I will make this again soon as the kids even like it!

I had to create an account JUST to comment on this recipe! This is BRILLIANT! I had bought a bunch of kale to make green smoothies with, and ended up hating the taste. I was desperate for recipes in order to just get rid of it all without tossing it in the trash. But I loved this recipe so much that I'll buy more now. PERFECT!! Delicious!!

These were so yummy and a great way to use up the kale I had from the garden. I have a hard time getting my little guy to eat green things unless they are peas and he loved these.

It's a little wasteful-- ANY stem part comes out chewy instead of crispy-- but delicious. My one year old and I gobbled up an entire batch. (Those I brushed with olive oil were tastier than those I sprayed with cooking spray.)

Super easy recipe. They all disappeared in one sitting between my man and I. I did find, however they do get stale if you make them ahead of time. Great way to fix all that abundant kale form the garden! Lots of vitamins and fiber!

I'm really not sure how to rate this recipe; at first taste, I absolutely loved these, but as I continued to eat them, I didn't care for them as much. I was surprised that many of my very picky siblings were eating and liking them as well! They also got tired of them quickly, though. As suggested, I sprayed the kale with oil spray. I also feel that this recipe calls for a little too much salt; some of my chips were VERY salty. Thanks for sharing; it is certainly a very interesting idea!

My 10 year old loved these. I made them with a little bit of roasted sesame oil as well as olive oil. I seasoned with garlic salt and black pepper. They were great. I made this with the unsavoyed kale- looks kind of like spinach. I kept the pieces small, and they all dried uniformly and were almost too flaky: but delicious.

Wow, this was very interesting, and surprisingly good! I thought the flavor was kind of a cross between dried seaweed and roasted pumpkin seeds. I sprayed the kale with olive oil cooking spray and lightly sprinkled with salt. Most of them ended up crumbly on the edges but still chewy in the middle. I would prefer them to be crisper in the middle but don't know how to do that without burning the edges. Still, a yummy snack. You can eat a whole bunch of kale this way without realizing it, because when it loses so much of its water content it isn't so bulky. Kale is chock full of lutein, which is great for our eyes!

I'm in shock right now. Shock. So good. They just came out of the oven - they crumble in your mouth and the seasoned salt totally hits the spot for that salty snack craving. I just put more in the oven with a little bit of garlic powder as well. Awesome!

These were ok but didn't cook evenly and most fell apart. They tasted good overall but not worth 5 stars in my opinion.

This was amazing! My very picky brother even liked them! I seasoned mine with dill. I also made a second salt and vinegar batch. I think I might try cheese popcorn seasoning for the next one! Thanks!

We have a bumper crop of kale, so I was looking for a way (other than soup) to use it. I was leery to try this, but after reading the reviews, I gave it a whirl and I'm not sorry I did. Interestingly yummy!

We love this recipe but instead of the oven, I simply use my dehydrator. No worries of overcooking/burning the "chips" that way! I find I can get away with 1 tsp. extra-virgin olive oil if I put the leaves in a BIG bowl and toss thoroughly after drizzling the oil over the kale. We grow kale in our garden and this is a great use for it!

Holy Cow! We joined a CSA and get fresh produce delivered to our home each week. Somewhat random, the box this week came with Kale - a food I have never purchased nor eaten. (I think I have seen it used as a garnish in restaurants). We tried this recipe, and even my super-picky eater ate it! If a ten-year old , who lives for mac-n-cheese and chicken nuggets willingly eats a veggie, and asks for more, I call this recipe a WINNER! I had a small amount leftover, kept in a Ziploc baggie and it was (barely) edible the next day. Defiantly best hot and fresh from the oven.
