Yummy, healthy. and so simple! My toddler couldn't get enough of them - she kept calling them potato chips. Yes, there is a slight kale aftertaste (it IS kale, after all), but they do in fact taste like potato chips when you bite into them. What do chips taste like other than oil and salt, anyhow? We are going to be making more of these right away tomorrow!

I never write reviews but this recipe compelled me to do so. Outstanding!! So yummy! Quick! Easy! Nutritious! Even the ones that didn't get quite as crispy were still delicious.

I really enjoyed these - my family would not buy into it, but oh well for them. If ever there was an occasion to eat dehydrated kale, this would be my recipe. I would make sure that the spices were represented because without them, they are not as tasty

Just being able to snack without the guilt makes this a worthy recipe. These chips are delightfully crispy when baked the right way. My first batch I baked for 10 minutes - all the small leaves were baked well, but the larger ones remained limp, chewy, and bitter. After a couple more batches, I found that with my oven I needed to leave them in for a good 20 minutes. I find that the bitterness is barely noticeable with enough baking. When there is more moisture left behind, I found the chips to be more bitter - though I didn't mind the bitterness too much. I added a sprinkle of garlic powder, salt, and white pepper. I'm excited to try other flavors! This recipe is definitely worth a try.

I got this recipe from a Jacques Pepin cooking show. It was awful in that it was bitter. There are ppl who like bitter but it's a bad word to me. I do strongly suggest you try it once however, as the health benifts would be awesome (in regards to snacking), if you lucky enough to like them. The need for crunch is so hard to meet with a healthy option. I'm completely baffled by the person who says "similar taste to potato chips.". Taste buds are funny creatures tho. To help keep the kale cook evenly and be crispy, cook on a rack (I think that's what it is called) on top of a cooking sheet. That way the air circulates around the kale. Baked chicken should be done this way too.

I had some kale leftover from a soup recipe and was looking for something quick and easy to do with it. I found this recipe via Google and was immensely delighted with the results-- the light, crispy texture is like nothing I've ever experienced. It is true that you have to watch the cooking time closely. I ended up taking some out when it looked "done" and cooking some for a bit longer. Since I have a convection oven, the first batch came out at 7min and the second at 9min. Thanks for such a creative treat!

This sounds a little bizarre so I had to try it! They were great and my 2 year- old loved them! Instead of sprinkling the olive oil and seasoned salt on I put the kale in a bowl, poured a mixture of the two over it, and stirred until the leaf pieces were coated. This seemed to ensure that the application was even.

I was amazed by how flavorful this was. I ran out of season salt so used "Old Bay" seasoning with some sea salt. I also sprayed the kale with olive oil. Next time I'll make bigger pieces since they shrink a bit when cooked. Delicious and healthy!

Interesting, different and tasty. I did sprinkle a little garlic powder in addition to the seasoned salt. Sprayed the kale with "Olivio" spray instead of using the oil called for. The recipe submitter's review states that spraying them is a good way to do it. I agree. Thanks for the recipe. Will make again!

Suprisingly delish! Light, airy, crispy. I shake kale with oil and seasonings in big ziplock bag. Love these!! Very unique idea!

Use cooking spray, and these are the dieter's potato chips! Great recipe. I use salt and garlic powder instead of seasoning salt. I like them better that way. They are hard to get consistently crunchy but not burnt. However, a little burnt will be covered up by the deliciousness of the non-burnt parts. So, don't worry if they're a little overcooked.

If my husband asks me to make it again, you know it is good. He vowed as an adult no one would make him eat veggies again. It is very hard to keep though.

A new favorite! Didn't use oil, just didn't dry the kale after washing. Added 1tsp sugar and three shakes of cayenne and tossed by hand in a bowl. Baked 9 min at 400^F on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. On the menu!

My mom made these for me and between the two of us we literally just ate 3 lbs of fresh kale from the garden. This is FANTASTIC! Doesn't taste like potato chips, but it doesn't taste like kale either. I like how you can very easily control the salt/calorie content and be able to gorge on a very nutritious vegetable. Great recipe.

I used a little more oil, and a little less salt. Could have cut the salt some more. I also set the oven to convection and cooked the kale for 18 minutes. Nicely brown, no black. The results were superb. I ate the whole tray.

I grew up hating kale. Now I look forward to eating it, if it's made this way. The texture is really nice, with such a light crispness that it shatters and practically disintegrates in an instance. My 4 yr old would eat all of the baked kale chips if we let him. My 1 yr old with only 2 teeth gets mad if we don't give it to him quickly enough when he points to it. These are great "munchies," perfect for snacking or accompanying burgers or sandwiches. I use more seasonings than the recipe calls for, "eye-balling" it rather than measuring. I also hand-toss the kale with the oil and seasonings in a bowl, before placing on the pan. My whole family loves this stuff.
