I used the suggestions of other reviewers, using less liquids, and also "toasted" the bread some in the oven before putting the liquid on it. This turned out amazing. I cooked it for a crowd for Easter breakfast. Will definitely make again!!

As suggested by someone else, I reduced number of eggs to 6 and milk to 1 cup, and the french toast was excellent! After the required time it looked as if it was not finished baking, but after letting it rest it settled down - almost tastes like a sticky bun. Company loved it for Easter brunch!

I made this for Easter Breakfast. It was AWSOME! I did dip the bread in the egg mixture (like I would when making french toast) instead of pouring the egg mixture on top of the bread. Besides that I followed the recipe as written. I think I might try adding cropped walnuts next time I make it. Excellent recipe!

I made this for Easter morning. I added 6 eggs and reduced the milk as recommended by other reviews but this was way too soggy. It was like mush, I tried cooking it longer but that didn't help. I won't make this again. very dissapointed!

My family loved this recipe! I also made a few changes,I used 6 eggs and 1 cup of milk and I cut the bread in cubes and used a 10x13 pan. It was like a bread pudding and not a bit soggy!

I used Challah instead of French bread. After reading the reviews, I also "basted" with the egg mixture before baking to prevent sogginess. It was delicious!

TOO SWEET! I was excited to make this recipe since french toast is my favorite breakfast meal and thought this would make a great easter treat. Think we like the texture more when made on a grill pan and would skip the sauce. Would hate to know what our glucose levels are right now :(

This recipe was awful. There was way too much liquid and when it was cooked, there were gobs of eggy mixture in between the bread. The Oven-Baked Caramel French Toast recipe is MUCH better.

This was just ok. It was pretty soggy but the flavor was good. More than likely won't make again since regular french toast is faster and better.

What a wonderful recipe!!! A must try. I didn't add the brown sugar syrup to the recipe (by mistake). So, I added pancake syrup when it had finished baking. It still turned out fantastic.

I made this for my husband and I reducing the servings to 4. It was very easy and so nice to wake up and just pop breakfast in the oven. The bread was not soggy at all and my husband was impressed with the taste of these. This recipe is a keeper!

Oh my gosh, I love this recipe! I have tried many baked french toast dishes and have never been satisfied, but this is fantastic and so easy. It has a custard consistency and tastes so good. Because of my work schedule, I prepare it on Sunday to sit overnight, and then my husband bakes it to be ready for when I get home the next evening. I know it is considered a breakfast dish, but I really love it for dinner (no need for dessert). Wouldn't change a thing with this recipe.

Very good. I had my doubts when it came out of the oven. But it firmed up once it was removed. I added some chopped almonds, which was nice. The only thing is that it takes considerable space. I reduced the recipe to 6 servings, filled the 9 x 13 dish, and the 4 of us ate every bit. I think next time I'll try it in a jelly roll pan. But I would make it again.

Fabulous!! This recipe was a huge hit for all my family. A super recipe for a busy morning as all the major prep is done the night before. I even assembled all the topping ingredients in a sauce pan the night before so the next morning, all I had to do was turn on the burner and go! We'll definitely have this again. Thanks for sharing.

This is deliciously decadent! I made it 2 different times to use up all the stale ends of my homemade bread that accumulate. It was a great Saturday treat for the family!

The best french toast ever! I dippped the toast and spooned a little extra in the bread center. I also turned the bread over halfway through.
