This is a great recipe. My daughter absolutely loves bacon, so she wants me to add a bit more to the dish. I also put the dish into a crock pot to keep warm and it kept great. No grease in my dish either! Will be making this for a New Year's Day Family Skate for all to enjoy!

WOW! I've made this 3 times now since the week before Christmas & it's been requested for New Years Eve now. After I prepared the dip, I added it to the removable part of the slow cooker then returned it once baked and set it on low to keep it warm as mentioned in another review. Mine came out great and was not oily at all!

We made this for a Christmas Eve party and it was a HUGE hit!!! We served it with cut up French bread (as a previous reviewer suggested) and it was DELICIOUS!!! We reheated it and had the leftovers today as a snack and it was just as yummy. This recipe is definitely a keeper!!!

This dip is easy to make and delicious! It was a huge Christmas Eve hit. The dip needs to be served hot. I used 1/2 an onion and then chopped 5 green onions - and cooked them for about a minute in the bacon pan - wiped out the bacon fat first - left enough to simply coat the pan so the onions wouldn't brown or stick. I served it with Triscuits and cubed french bread -YUM!

This was very good and very, very easy to make. I cooked it in the microwave at half power as suggested in another review and it turned out perfectly.

I made this recipe because it looked easy. It was really easy and tasted great. Guests loved it and some asked for the recipe. The only thing I did differently was saute the onions in some of the bacon fat.

Everyone that came in contact with just the SMELL of this was ready and waiting to dip their crackers in! I really enjoyed this, it's definitely going down in the books as a "keeper". I sauteed the onion in a bit of butter till they were soft before adding it to the mixture. I did sprinkle some garlic powder in there as well. I cooked it in the oven for 20 mins in the dish that removes from my slow cooker. Then put on the slow cooker to keep warm till the potluck. Great recipe, thanks!

Very yummy! I took comments from this site and adjusted the recipe. I used Velveta (a processed cheese) and a white quesidilla cheese instead of the cheddar and had no grease or atrocious appearance. I know processed cheese is not the best but it sure melts well. I also served with bread. Thanks!

I made this for a family barbeque. Everyone gave it rave reviews but I thought it looked a little greasy and overall unappealing. It was very easy to make though and held up well for traveling. And since I got several requests for the recipe I figured it deserved a four. It’s not my favorite hot dip/spread but I think I would try it again with a little pepper and garlic for more flavor.

This is great...not much to look at and horrible for your waistline, but great nonetheless! I did follow suggestions of garlic powder and pepper. We also tried a variety of "dippers" and found that, instead of crackers, sea salt bagel chips and plain old baguette won out! My mom was even threatening to slather it on a toasted bagel for breakfast if there were any leftovers...there weren't, much to her disappointment.

Excellent. Perfect for cool weather BBQs or gatherings. I cook the onion ahead of time and add with the bacon. Can easily halve this recipe, it easily served 12 adults as a pre-dinner snack. Also very easy to cook it in the microwave instead of the oven. To make the in the microwave, mix spread up as directed but cook on medium power for 6-7 minutes, then finish off under the grill for about 5 minutes. Leftovers are easily re-heated in microwave as well

This was a very easy and tasty spread. I made this for a home sales party. I will make this again definitely and would not make any changes. It does make a large amount. I preferred this MUCH more on a club cracker and just LOVED it on the Town House Cornbread crackers (so did everyone else)rather than artisan bread. The textures didn't seem right together. Enjoy!
