My fellow guests absolutely INHALED this at the superbowl party I brought it to last night. I think it is better served on slices of french bread. I used three cups of cheese instead of the four stated in the recipe because that's all I had at the time. It was still amazingly rich! Maybe next time I will saute or carmelize the onions in advance. This spread is like no party food I've had before and totally kicked butt!

I made this for a New Year's Eve party and everyone loved it! It is very rich, so a little goes a long way. I left out the onion because I don't like them and it was still awesome.

Awesome party dip! I did add a half a jar of diced roasted red pepper. The pepper went well with the bacon and cheddar flavors and added a nice dash of color.

Tasted too much like sour cream and not much else. It was very thick. Will not make again.

This was divine! I halved the recipe and omitted the mayonnaise. Also I used light sour cream and light cream cheese. Instead of onion, I added chopped leek from our garden. This was such a party hit! My sister especially loved it cold even before it was baked! This is a definite keeper! The second time I made it we had some leftover. It kept well in the fridge and we would snack on it throughout the day without reheating it. It was a bit crumbly when served cold after having already been baked, but the flavors intensified making it even tastier!

This was the first dip gone at the party!! Everyone loved it!! I changed it up just a little - I added about 3/4lb of bacon (and some said I could have put more...), added some parmesan cheese and cut back a bit on the onion. Next time I will add full amount of onion and a bit of hot sauce.

This recipe was the best I have ever tasted. Every one loved it. Even my kids who are very picky loved it. Thanks to the person who put this one on-line.

Heavy tasting, and plain. Not what we were expecting. I had 15-20 people over for New Year's Eve, and hardly anyone touched it.

It was a hit! Highly recommended. I left with an empty dish. I am going to make it again and play around with a variety of cheeses.

Sorry, I just didnt think this had all that much flavor. Very bland. I served several appetizers at a recent party and this one was hardly touched. Needs something to spice it up alittle.

Delicious. I left the onions out because I wasn't in an onion mood. I also left out the mayo as my husband hates it and I knew he wouldn't eat it with mayo. Well he didn't eat it anyway just because "it looks like it has too much sour cream". The kids and I loved it. I couldn't spread the kids' crackers fast enough for them. Great on Tomato & Basil Wheat Thins.

This was good, but I was looking for something that would 'wow' every party, and this wasn't it. I added a little Tabasco and garlic powder, and without that I think it would have been a bit bland. Because I was in a hurry, I used a few tablespoons of dried minced onion instead of the real deal, and I microwaved it for 5 minutes instead of baking. I cut the recipe in half and it still made a lot (would have easily fed 10 people). My only suggestion is to go easy on the top layer of cheese, because when it melts it gets greasy and it's not the prettiest thing to look at. Still tastes good though!

I can't believe this received such great reviews! I made this for a family of cheese and dip lovers, and no one liked it. I followed the recipe exactly. The texture was awful and it lacked flavor.

This spread is really easy to make and taste great. Everyone liked it so much I ended up making it twice over the holidays. I used ranch dressing instead of mayo. The second time I made this, I added hot suace and diced jalapenos. It turned out great as well.
