Baked Beef Stew
SUBMITTED BY:
Doris Sleeth
"'This is such an easy way to make a wonderful beef stew,' beams Doris Sleeth of Naples, Florida. 'You don't need to brown the neat first-just combine it with hearty chunks of carrots, potatoes and celery...and let it all cook together in a flavorful gravy. My daughter Karen came up with the recipe for her busy family.'"

With the exception of a couple mod's its the perfect stew coming from a person who never made a stew b4 this year! love it. The only mod's i've done is i use corn starch, add a little honey, soya sauce & brown sugar. As for veggies I like changing it up once in awhile and love to throw in water chestnuts, cauliflower, brocoli, etc etc. Great stew

This was a good beef stew recipe. Nice and easy to prepare. Took exactly 2 hours to cook for me. The gravy was really good, as well.

FANTASTIC! Very tasty and easy to make. I will definitely be making this dish again! We aren't fans of onions so we replaced the onions with corn and it worked out great.

Wasn't as juicy as the Yankee Pot Roast that takes just as much work and time to make. Adding 2 tbls. of Worcestershire sauce probably wouldn't hurt.

I've been making this recipe for several years. During the last 15 minutes of baking, I add homemade biscuits to the top of the stew. Delicious!

I have used this recipe for years and we love it . For those who don't like onions I suggest you use onion powder or flakes instead of the fresh onion. I also use a spicy vegetable juice in place of the tomatoes (we like things spicy) the bread can be omitted for those who don't care for the feel of the wet bread. I also have made this is a slow cooker and I have used meatball instead of the beef cubes.
