I love this recipe and I have prepared many versions of it over the years. My favorite preparation is a savory variation: I use golden apples, chopped pecan halves (added with the celery & onions so they get really buttered), and salt, cinnamon, cardamom and pepper for seasoning instead of poultry and sage. The golden apples need no cooking, add them last and toss them in the mix right before you add the broth. Oroweat Honey Wheatberry bread is the perfect companion to the savory and sweet flavors.

Great recipe! I used twice the amount of broth and also added about a half a cup of pecans.

I was short on time today so I cut out the middle man and used Cubbison's herb stuffing mix. Because there was more bread/seasoning in the stuffing mix, I only added a little pepper and poultry seasoning and I doubled the fruits/veggies. The bouillion wasn't needed because I used chicken stock for the liquid called for. I used half cranberries and half raisins and soaked them in hot cider before adding them to the stuffing. This was very easy and I liked it a lot. The family did not. Too bad.

Very simple! I didn't have 'poultry seasoning' so I just gave it a pinch of thyme, rosemary and celery seed. I also substituted dried cranberries for the raisins. Wonderful side dish for my chicken! It was a taste of Thanksgiving...in April!

I made this at the 12 people setting and ended up with enough for 20. It needed alot of extra broth and could have used some extra spices and maybe a little less raisins. A very good recipe that i will play with and use again. Thanks!
