I halved the recipe and baked it for 30 min. It didn't look very appetizing, so I probably wouldn't serve it to company. The flavor was good, but the dish was on the dry side. I served it in bowls with milk poured over it (like cereal). It was pretty good that way. I would probably make this again, but maybe not cook it as long or add more milk.

This recipe was VERY good. My kids love it. Straight out of the oven, it is very reminiscent of bread pudding. I emailed the recipe to a bunch of friends because nutritionally is has so many good ingredients. If you have leftovers, reheat in the microwave with additional milk, as leftovers are otherwise a little dry. I added extra apples I was trying to use up, and more cinnamon than was called for. I'll probably do that again.

Wow, I really thought I was going to love this. I didn't really care for it though. I love oatmeal in most any form so I don't know what happened. The texture was kind of wierd. The flavor was good, and it is very filling, and healthy. It makes a ton too- I should have cut it in half. I'd say it makes more than 6 servings. I might try the leftovers tomorrow and see how they are.

Yum! This is not aesthetically pleasing at all (it looks like brown glop), but it sure tastes good. I omitted the raisins and ground up the walnuts in a food processor. I like making this because it gives me enough for breakfast all week--I just microwave a bowl of it each morning. I think I'll try decreasing the sugar a bit next time to make it a little healthier.

I just tried this for breakfast and it was good! :) I added a little extra milk and it was still thick, but I love thick oatmeal!

This is a very good and easy recipe. I used old fashioned oatmeal and added some allspice and vanilla. Everyone enjoyed it here.

This was fabulous. Great flavor. I didn't have wheat germ and didn't miss it. The nuts were the best touch. Thanks!

Great, hearty, and so good for you! I omitted the nuts as BF has an allergy to them, but otherwise followed the recipe. (I added the nuts to my own bowl after cooking, would've been better baked with the cereal, but still very good.) The wheat bran gives it an unusual, but not unpleasant texture. I feel positively righteous eating this! Thank you for a great submission, and one I'll be making again in these winter months.

I thought this was OK; it was not as flavourful as the "baked oatmeal" recipe my mother used to make from a Taste of Home or Country Woman magazine. I thought it was a tad dry, and would probably add more spice next time. Other reviewers do seem to like it though.

Nice and flavorful. I "changed" the recipe amount to serve 4 and placed the oatmeal in ramekins. Unfortunately, this oatmeal was a little dry compared to a lot of baked oatmeal recipes I've had before, so maybe I'll add more milk than the recipe called for. Otherwise, it was the right sweetness and flavor. Addition: For a creamier and slightly sweeter taste, substitute the milk with soy milk and increase by at least a half a cup. e.g. in a recipe serving six, increase the milk from 4 to 4 1/2 cups.

Really good! I made it for my kids and they loved it. I tried it even though I don't like traditional oatmeal, it was fantastic! I added pecans as well.

My family enjoyed this. It took a while to cook (45 minutes) but was worth it. Good way to add wheat germ / high fiber foods to the diet. I used 1/2 cup of raisins.

DELICIOUS. Very easy to make. I used soymilk in place of the milk. I cut down on the butter. I used more apple,no walnuts so used chopped pecans. I sprinkled cinnamin and nutmeg on top. Tastes like a warm cookie. I will use honey next time.

I only used apples, and I mixed the first ingredients & heated in microwave before adding the rest. My kids also enjoyed milk poured over the top like another member suggested.
