"On cold winter mornings in Wisconsin, Mom warmed us up by serving this deliciously sweet cereal. Winters are mild here in North Carolina, but this oatmeal is still one of my favorites."

Yummy!! I thught this was great. It had a wonderful apple cinnamon flavor and the house smelled great while it was baking. I did use pecans instead of walnuts because I had them on hand. I also cut back on the sugar a bit. My hubby had his with milk poured over the top. I will make this again. My whole family enjoyed it. Thanks for the healthy breakfast!

This was fabulous. Great flavor. I didn't have wheat germ and didn't miss it. The nuts were the best touch. Thanks!

Yum! This is not aesthetically pleasing at all (it looks like brown glop), but it sure tastes good. I omitted the raisins and ground up the walnuts in a food processor. I like making this because it gives me enough for breakfast all week--I just microwave a bowl of it each morning. I think I'll try decreasing the sugar a bit next time to make it a little healthier.

Nice and flavorful. I "changed" the recipe amount to serve 4 and placed the oatmeal in ramekins. Unfortunately, this oatmeal was a little dry compared to a lot of baked oatmeal recipes I've had before, so maybe I'll add more milk than the recipe called for. Otherwise, it was the right sweetness and flavor. Addition: For a creamier and slightly sweeter taste, substitute the milk with soy milk and increase by at least a half a cup. e.g. in a recipe serving six, increase the milk from 4 to 4 1/2 cups.

This recipe was VERY good. My kids love it. Straight out of the oven, it is very reminiscent of bread pudding. I emailed the recipe to a bunch of friends because nutritionally is has so many good ingredients. If you have leftovers, reheat in the microwave with additional milk, as leftovers are otherwise a little dry. I added extra apples I was trying to use up, and more cinnamon than was called for. I'll probably do that again.

I only used apples, and I mixed the first ingredients & heated in microwave before adding the rest. My kids also enjoyed milk poured over the top like another member suggested.

I thought this was fantastic! I love thick hearty oatmeal and was pleased to find this recipe that I could bake in the oven. I used golden raisins and my wheat germ was "honey-nut" flavored. Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly. This makes a big batch so I found myself nibbling on it throughout the day. Great recipe, I will make this again!
