Wow this is by far the most addictive dessert I have ever made! I love citrus flavors and this is just fantastic! I've made this recipe several times and my family just LOVES these! I do exactly what GOURMETMOMMY suggests and its been a 5 star batch everytime I've made it! I'll definetly continue to make this recipe!

There are other lemon bar recipes on this site but.... this one requires no sifter, doesn't need a mixer, fewer ingredients, fewer reviewers' changes. My only adjustment was putting it in a 9x9 pan at 350 - TRUST ME, SMALLER PAN IS NEEDED. I can't imagine making it any thinner if it was in a 9x13. No need to double ingredients like reviews suggested if you just put it in a smaller pan. It took about 5 minutes to make the crust. While that was baking, about 15 minutes to whisk other ingredients. Then 15-20 minutes in oven.....so within 45 minutes you have very tasty lemon bars = 5 stars!!!

The lemon bars tasted good, but I wouldn't say they were jaw-dropping amazing. Somehow, the bars turned out to be very thin, even though we followed the recipe exactly and spread the mixture into a 9x13 pan as directed. Definitely do not put back in the oven for more than 20 minutes as ours came out with VERY crisp bottoms. Maybe I'll try again someday - I do love lemon bars.

These were a hit. Watch them though; they need less cooking time than called for. (for crust and top)

Excellent!! Have made this recipe many times because it's so easy and exceptionally satisfying. I made 1.5 parts recipe of the lemon which worked well. I might double all the lemon next time. Before making this recipe I didn't know how good Lemon Bars were.

Delicious! I will make them in a smaller pan next time to have a thicker bar, but overall the taste was great!

Great recipe! I only baked the crust for 5 minutes less than it called for, and added 1/4 cup of lemon juice. Delicious!

My family loves this! I would have liked it to be more tart. The sweetness really overpowered the lemon flavor. But good recipe for the most part! My filling was done after just 10 min...don't overcook it!

I felt this was just okay. I can't imagine spreading out the dough in a 9x13 pan unless the recipe was doubled. I used an 9' circle casserole dish because that was all I had. I added 1 tsp. of fresh lemon zest and used fresh lemon juice. I felt it was too sweet. Good bake sale bars, just not the lemon bars for us.

Good! I made the mistake of doubling up on the crust but NOT the lemon part. Double BOTH for thicker bars. My lemon topping was fully done and browning after only 10 minutes. If you DO double it, it may take longer. I'm going to try to make this a little more tart and lemon-y next time. It tasted good, but there was no prominent lemon flavor. Texture for both parts was delicious, though. Thanks. :)

Great recipe. Modifications...350..20 minutes for the crust works great. Increased back to 375 for baking filling. Increased amount of lemon juice til I found that taste I liked. Overall..very satisfied with this recipe.

I think this recipe is great just as written. I do 1 1/2x all the ingredients and bake in a 10x15" insulated pan. A no fail recipe and they always disappear fast.

I really liked this recipe! I did make some changes though. If I hadn't done it in a 9 x 9 square pan, I think they would have been much too thin. I made the crust, baked for 15 minutes only, I upped the filling flour to 4 tbsp and the lemon juice to 1/3 cup, added 3 drops of pink food colouring (they looked really cute); and then baked for about 20 more minutes. My co-workers really enjoyed them and a few asked for the recipe :)
