They were easy to make and tasted great. I followed the other suggestions and dipped the smokies and bacon in brown sugar before baking. I am going to try these in the slow cooker next time.

We made these one night when we didn't want to cook dinner, and we had everything on hand. I was very skeptical of putting brown sugar on them, but they were very good! I wanted something to dip them in, and used some green onion dip we had in the fridge. Pretty good, though I may try a dip that I saw for these on this website next time. Yummy...thanks!

3 little girls polished off almost the entire batch of these Super Bowl Sunday. We three adults each got a couple, however. I poured the brown sugar in a bowl and stirred the smokies around in it before rolling in the bacon. I didn't use much more brown sugar when I baked them. They are fabulous!

Very yummy! These are my husband's favorite. Be sure to cook them on a disposable pan. It makes clean up much easier.

Made these for Super Bowl Sunday, they tasted great, but I am giving them only four stars because the cooking time was way off. I put them on a cooling wrack on top of a foil lined baking sheet, I turned them halfway thru and at the end of the cooking time, the bacon was still not done, I turned them again and cooked for 30 more minutes. I will try and find extra thin bacon next time or bump up the oven temp. But as far as taste, they are great.

Made these as some suggested cut the bacon into thirds and put in a ziplock bag with the brown sugar and shook. Then wrapped around the smokie. Made these last night for a superbowl party. They were gobbled up so fast. These are very good and addicting.

I made this as an appetizer for the Super Bowl. They were easy to make. I covered each piece of bacon and each smokie in the brown sugar before I put them together. Next time I'll just sprinkle the sugar over the top because I don't think it made much of a difference and it was more time consuming.

Love this recipe! I have made it a few times and have made some adjustments. I used a 1/2 c brown sugar and 2tb melted butter mix until smooth and then I mix in the smokies until they are coated. then I wrap the bacon around each smokie and rather than toothpicks I use a long wooden skewer(easy to flip while cooking), then sprinkle more brown sugar over. about 10-12 per skewer and they genlty fall of the skewer after they cook and stay wrapped because the brown sugar/butter acts like a glue. best football food ever!

I make this recipe in the slow cooker, cooking on low for about 2 hours, perfect to keep warm for work/potlucks! I agree with the review suggesting maple bacon, this change alone could add a 6th star. My 4 kids request this at EVERY game/party/potluck.

I make this for parties all the time and people always ask for the recipe. I have changed the prep slightly the more I've made it however: I only use thick sliced bacon since it seems to hold up better, and I dredge the bacon in the brown sugar before I wrap everything together so the flavors can mingle more. Also, I bake them for 30 minutes at 375 since I like really crispy bacon. Overall a very quick and delicious appetizer!

Have prepared these for numerous events and have yet to find anyone who does not like them. They are always the first to go. In fact, I typically do not like bacon or sausage but am quite fond of these little bites. I have found that rolling each one around in the brown sugar, then sprinkling more brown sugar over them before baking really does the trick! I have never secured with a toothpick--no problems. Also, have never put in a crockpot; they're delicious at room temp!
