Made these for a party. They were gone in ten minutes of being placed on the table. I followed as directed with one exception of mixing 1/2 can of regular coke with brown sugar and pouring over the the smokies before cooking. This creates a very nice glaze.

Great recipe, super easy to prepare with just a few ingredients. We served it as an appetizer for a dinner party and these got more attention than anything else! Prepared the recipe as indicated, made no changes. Next time i'll try the maple syrup suggestion.

I've never made an appetizer that generated such "food lust". One taste, and people want more. Instead of serving with the brown sugar/bacon grease slurry, drain them, add to the crock pot, pour in 1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup, and stir. The flavor enhancement is incredible. Also, these get even better as they're warmed in the slow cooker.

do NOT make this in a crockpot. there is too much bacon face and moistuer- it prevents the bacon from crisping up. did came out good when baked, though

These were really good and not hard to make at all! Definitely put down some foil on the baking sheet as it's a mess to clean up!

This came out great! I did have to use the broiler to get the bacon to cook though...It was raw until I turned the broiler on. They were a big hit at the party!

I never thought I would make this. Way too bad for anyone to actually eat. But I did it for the kids. And I must admit that I ate 2 of them. Yum. And a walk around the block with dogs.

I baked these on a baking rack so that the bacon grease would drain onto the cookie sheet. My kids loved them. I will definitely make again.

I made these for Easter and now my hubby asks for them all the time! I use 1/4 piece of bacon, wrap them and use a toothpick to secure. (easier to eat that way) Then I put them in a big gallon bag and pour the brown sugar on top and shake them. (be careful not to poke yourself with the toothpicks!) then I place on a plate and refrigerate overnight. This creates this wonderful syrup. I then place on the baking sheet (FOIL REQUIRED!) and then sprinkle with more brown sugar. I keep the syrup, and after baking the smokies, I place them in a crock pot and pour the syrup over them. Delicious!
