I have made these for years with one addition. In our family we like a little zip so we have always added about 1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon of chili powder. We dont really measure the chili powder just about that much. It gives it a little spice with the sweet. Everywhere we have had these, always ask for the ingredients. YUM

These were great! Took some time to make, but well worth it. Every smokey eaten at party! I "dredged" the bacon in the brown sugar and then wrapped the smokies. Then, added brown sugar on top. Excellent.

Great for game day. Easy recipe, I made these in the crockpot instead of the oven & still turned out great.

These are consumed faster than the time it takes to assemble them! A crowd favorite! Place in crockpot and drizzle light maple syrup on top to serve. Keep crockpot on low or warm.

Everyone loves these! I baked at 325 for about 35mins and then at 350 for the last ten mins. I made them for a house party so after I baked them I put them in a crock pot and poured about a 1/2C Maple Syrup over them. Mmmmm soo good! These are super easy to prep the night before!

I made the Tiger Dill Sauce submitted by Echomoon. It was great served with these tasty little Smokies. I used pineapple tidbits in each Smokie and bacon roll up. It added an extra kick. Friends ask for these each gathering. Keep the good appetisers coming!

A coworker introduced our office staff to these little gems - they are great. She cut hotdogs in half and wraps the bacon around them and cooks them in the crockpot at work. Her method is to alternate layers of the wrapped hotdogs and brown sugar and cook them on high in the crockpot. She starts them around 8:00 am and they are done by noon. It's a long, tormenting morning when you are smelling these little babies cooking and waiting for lunch. We are all very thankful that she brings them to every office potluck.

AWESOME!! I made these for our Boss's Day Brunch today & I think the guys were ready to give me a raise after tasting them!! I doubled the recipe using 2 lbs center cut bacon, 1 pkg of the Beef Smokies & 1 pkg of the Sausage variety. Both Smokies were good but I'd give the edge to the Beef ones in the taste department. That's just a personal preference though. I basically followed the recipe as written since this was my first time making them. My only slight deviation was I increased the cook time by about 5 minutes. Although they were cooked in the specified time I wanted my bacon to be a bit darker/crispier. Just based on this one trial I think I will follow the advice of others & try either dredging the bacon or rolling the smokies in the brown sugar in addition to the sprinkling. I think it will make a better coating but it's an excellent recipe as written. And prep time really wasn't so bad. I think it took me about 45 minutes to roll a double batch & I noticed my rolling was much faster & improved as I went along. Anyway, great recipe!! Thanks for the post.

Excellent. I really thought the brown sugar was going to be too sweet, but these turned out to be a huge hit!

So delicious! My family does "cook-off" competitions and one month we had bacon. I made these with a dipping sauce I found (1/2 cup mayo 1/2 cup bbq sauce 4 tbsp brown sugar)...and I WON the competition!

These were sooooo good. I doubled up the recipe and I think they lasted about 5 minutes at the party I went to. I think I'll quadruple the recipe next time! Instead of sprinkling the brown sugar I dredged the bacon in a pile of brown sugar while wrapping the smokies. That way each smokie was evenly coated. Very easy, and it really wasn't that time consuming.
