This is a great recipe to add the "wow" to your hamburgers. I didn't have the onion on hand, so I threw in about three-fourths of a Tbs of onion powder, which worked well. I actually cooked them on the broiler in my oven, about 5 minutes for each side on medium heat(watching carefully that the bacon doesn't singe). That worked nicely, but next time, I will be sure to make the patties "extra flat", as I couldn't press them down as I would have on the grill.

This recipe is a keeper. We used green onions instead of a regular onion. We also dressed with baby greens and radicchio, tomato, dill pickle slices, mayo, ketchup, purple onion rings, and spicy-sweet mustard. All served on buttered then toasted light wheat buns. We pulled the bacon off after cooking the burgers nine minutes on the Forman grill. The bacon wasn't crispy, and we did not want the added fat. Also, we used only the egg yolk, not the white.

I really enjoyed the flavor of these. I had a problem with them falling apart on the grill. My husband thought they had to much onion flavor, but I used a 1/4 of an onion. My picky 13 year old ate them up with no problem. I will make them again, but I think 1 egg was to much for a pound of burger and that is why they fell apart. Great flavor. Thanks for the recipe.

YUMMY & JUICY! I used an indoor grill (it is winter in AK) and moose hamburger. I substituted A1 for the ketchup. I only used an egg YOLK vs the whole egg. FINELY chopping your onion will also help the ingredients to bind together. Next time I will add the cheese on top, as I love CHEESEburgers. Fantastic!

I LOVED these burgers, though my picky little sister said they reminded her of my meatloaf (which she isn't too fond of). I added 3 cloves minced garlic and 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs because it seemed a little too moist upon mixing, and cooked them on a skillet with about 10 minutes at the top rack of the oven at the end to get the bacon cooked. There is definitely a strong onion flavor, which I think is good, but depending on your own preferences you might want to decrease the onion. They came out perfectly juicy, and the bacon really lends a great flavor. Next time I make these, I will probably cut the onions finer and cook the bacon a bit prior to wrapping the burgers, just for ease of cooking.

These were excellent!! I cooked them on my stove top grill that fits right over my burner. I normally buy the microwavable bacon so instead of wrapping it around the hamburger (I was afraid it would burn) I topped the hamburger with a slice of cheese and added the bacon on top. My bf said a "good hamburger" doesn't need condiments to make it taste good. Needless to say he didn't add ANY to his burger.

This is probably the best burger recipe on the site. I didn't have any bacon on hand, but it was still great.

I have the pickiest boyfriend, so I had to eliminate the onion and egg and use all cheddar cheese, but while I was making them he kept saying he wasnt going to like them. But he ate one, and then next thing I knew they were all gone and I only ate one!!!

This was great. Very moist and had a nice flaver. I put more Wor. Sauce in than called for and also added about 3 cloves of minced garlic since we love garlic. A couple of my burgers burned on the outside where the bacon was so next time I will probably use thick sliced bacon so it doesn't burn up. All in all, we liked it. 5 stars BABY!!!

These were really good, but if you try to make 6 patties out of 1 lb. of ground beef, they aren't thick enough to wrap a slice of bacon around (unless you make them very very small like meatballs). Making 4 burgers from this recipe might make it easier. This is why I gave 4 stars and not 5. Taste was wonderful. My husband used the word meatloaf while eating it though :(
