I used chopped chives rather than onion & didn't wrap them in bacon. They were delicious.

Yum! I just added diced onions to the mix to make it complete. It is now a staple at our house.

Followed recipe exactly - DEE-LISH!!!!!! Great twist on the ole' burger and the family loved them!!!! Consistency was great and maybe the lo-fat bacon kept the flames down. Adding to the weekend line-up.

The recipe tasted great exactly as is (though we omitted onions because neither of us like them). The meat had tons of flavor. The burgers themselves came out OK, but they kept falling apart (our meat was not very lean either) and the bacon kept igniting on the grill. I don't know if the ingredients caused it to fall apart or what, but we'll definitely be trying this again.

These were wonderful! I din't have bacon or onion. I substituted onion powder and it turned out great. I doubled it except for the egg and this made 8 nice sized hamburgers. I don't know how 1 lb. of hamburger can make 6 patties. They were very juicey and did not fall apart while cooking. This is a keeper!

My boyfriend gave these 2 thumbs up. Followed the recipe, but also added crushed red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, and italian seasoning. I precooked the bacon for just a few minutes before wrapping it around the burgers, just to make sure it would be cooked through at the same time as the burgers. Next time I might skip the egg, though. I'm not sure it was necessary. Thanks :)

I skipped the bacon. The onions were a bit too much for me and the kids. Next time I may use onion soup mix instead of chopped onions. Overall I liked them and they were quite good.

These burgers were really good. The only thing I didn't do was wrap it up in bacon, didn't have any on hand. They turned out nice and juicy and the entire family loved them. Will definately make these again and will try with the bacon too. Thanks for sharing this great recipe. Update:March 11, 2009 This is still our favourite and only burger recipe. I made them a few days ago and pan fried them this time as I ran out of propane for the BBQ and they are just as good. The bacon definately is a must as it adds so much flavour. It also makes it look more fancy like a filay mignon. YUM YUM YUM!!!

I doubled the recipe and used a combination of extra lean ground beef and ground pork. Also, used turkey bacon instead of pork bacon to further reduce the fat. These turned out quite excellent. I received rave reviews from my family.
