Bacon Wrapped Dates

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (8 ounce) package pitted dates
  • 10 ounces Cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 1 pound sliced bacon, quartered

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat the broiler.
  2. Slice open dates, and stuff each with a cube of Cheddar cheese. Wrap each date with a quarter of a bacon slice, and secure bacon with toothpicks.
  3. Arrange wrapped dates on a medium baking sheet, and broil 15 minutes in the preheated oven, turning once, until bacon is evenly browned.

This is very similar to a recipe I use. Just substitute the cheese for whole almonds. It taste like you are eating candy. Sherry

Errrr... not by any means the great, classy, yet easy appetizer I was looking for. I tried it out on my friends before my big party. Be happy to know, however, one person out of three liked them!

This is SO much better with zero cheese. Bacon Wrapped Dates should be just that, omit the cheese altogether and you will have a luscious recipe.
