Very easy, simple ingredients, and yummy, yummy, yummy!!! I used the black label bacon and cut each slice in half. Feta or Manchega cheese would be good if you don't like blue. I ate them cold out of the fridge the next day- even better!!!! I didn't use any other ingredients like vinegar or sugar; it was perfect just like this! The only caveat: Make sure you have plenty people to eat them, or otherwise you WILL eat them all by yourself.

These are all the rage - the smokey flavor of bacon with the sweet date and the tangy blue cheese just can't be beat!

This is an amazing simple recipe. However, I used Parmesan cheese which i think is a better flavor combo then Bleu Cheese. Also watch the bacon closely because i think that it tastes a little better with the bacon softer than crispier.

These are wonderful! My boyfriend made these and put one almond inside the date with the cheese. We served them at a party and there weren't any left!

Wow. I made a test batch of ten of these tonight, and like the other reviewer, they are all gone. I sliced the blue cheese from a block, and used cheaper, thin bacon. I had thick cut bacon on hand but the thin stuff was perfect. Do bake on a rack and monitor their progress. Remove the toothpicks before presenting. The perfect combination of salty, tangy and sweet!

A family introduced me to the dates wrapped in bacon close to 10 years ago - How unique I thought it was! I have never seen it at any restaurants here in Mass. It is such a Huge hit everytime I make them (and I get requests to make them at every holiday!) I cant wait to make them with various cheeses and almonds. I have used the Maple flavored bacon at times but will definitely try plain bacon with brown sugar! Thank You!

These are sooo good! 1 pound of bacon cut in half gave me 24 strips so therefore only made 24 servings versus the 32 listed. I stuffed them with goat cheese instead of blue and they were yummy.

Great party treat!! I served these at my SuperBowl party- everyone asked for the recipe. I used feta since my crowd wasn't a blue cheese fan and I also put an almond in each date. I wrapped the dates in bacon and then sprinkled some brown sugar on each one prior to putting them in the over. It also might have helped that I asembled them the night before so they had time to marinate in the bacon and brown sugar. I will definately make them again!

I followed the directions exactly, using a broiler pan. I turned them over after 15 minutes and thought to myself, "these look done now". I should have trusted my instincts. After 15 more minutes they were blackened to the point of being unedible. Did anyone else have this problem?

I put almonds in the middle instead of the blue cheese and this was a great app. Everyone RAVED about it. I would probably roll the bacon in a little brown sugar to give it a nice glaze. This is was a popular one!

These are good, but try inserting small pieces of parmesan cheese instead. A local wine bar does them this way and they are the most popular appetizer on the menu. Much better and they will FLY off the platter.

This is a great basic stuffed date recipe. The blue cheese married with the sweetness of the dates and the salty bacon is delicious. For a wonderful variation, try mixing half cream cheese and half goat cheese instead of the blue cheese. Even picky kids will eat these sweet treasures!

I had bacon wrapped dates at an appetizer & wine party 2 years ago and loved them! I was so pleased to find this recipe so I could recreate them! I did try to skimp on the bacon to make it go farther.... only used 1/4 a piece for each date but that was a mistake. You definitely need the savory flavor of the bacon to counter the sweetness of the dates! Also very good even without a filling... This is such an easy thing to make ahead, freeze or refrigerate, and cook when you need them.... Definitely a keeper- Thanks!

Wow...fantastic! And so easy too. I went the optional route and added almonds. Next time I may crumble the bleu cheese and the almonds so I can mix them together before stuffing the dates..may save some time. I also tried parma ham, but it was too time consuming since the pieces are extremely thin and hard to work with...switched to bacon and assembly went much quicker. Absolutely delicious..I'm going to bring them a Christmas party!
