On every 2nd layer, I put shredded cheese, sprinkled garlic powder, fresh cracked triple pepper, chopped onion and one bacon cut into bits. Until I ran out of potatoes. I poured white sauce on then used rest of block of cheese and sprinkled with Garlic & Herb bread crumbs. Baked it almost 90 min. WOW! Big hit!

This was good, my husdand liked it. I didn't use onions, so instead I used onion powder. It still came out good.

I really liked this, but my husband only kinda liked it. He's not a fan of scalloped potatoes anyway...So I'm not counting his opinion. I only used a 1/4 of a small onion, and I'm glad I did. It would have been way way too much. Used yukon gold potatoes because I wouldn't have to peel them. Added some mozzarella to the sauce with some black pepper and a pinch of nutmeg and garlic. Would have rated 5 stars, but gave it 4 b/c of the onions.

These were excellent! I substituted 3 c of grated cheddar for the processed cheese, added sauteed minced garlic clove and yellow onion, and substituted FF half and half for the milk and they were out of this world!

Tried this recipe, doubled it and even added cheese like some of the others. I did not care for this recipe.

I didn't have any bacon, but did use bacon bits scattered through the layers with green onions, salt and pepper. It was perfect! My husband who isn't fond of scalloped potatoes could hardly leave them alone. Thanks for such a great recipe!

This was so good. I took some advice and placed the bacon on the potatoes while it was baking. It was so good. Highly recommend it. Portion size was very good.

A little bit too much onion for my taste, but I also added some grated cheddar cheese to the layers and added some breadcrumbs on top as suggested by others. I also cooked it with the bacon on top and the flavor was absorbed by the potatoes. I will make again, tweaking the recipe just a bit. All in all, though, something different to do with potatoes.

This did not have good flavor. It was very bland and not enough sauce. It was a waste to fix because everyone disliked it.

Excellent - next time I think I'll add some bacon to the mix along with some cheddar cheese for a little extra flavor. Family of five gave me the thumbs up to make again!

This is a excellent recipe. I sauted the onions in the butter before adding the flour and sprinkled the crisp bacon on top after about 20 minutes in the oven. Everyone raved about this at the potluck I went to. Definitely make them again.

Really good! I doubled, but otherwise followed exactly as written. My family loved this, but i'd prefer more spice (maybe a dash of cayenne next time). I served with Ed Zieba's Pork Chops and my family gobbled up dinner!

This is perfect comfort food, made with no processed ingredients. Be sure to cook it long enough to get that brown bubbly crust on the top--that is the best part! Sometimes I use diced leftover ham instead of the bacon and it is a great main dish casserole.

These were very good. However, the potatoes took much longer to cook than stated. I would probably boil the potatoes ahead next time. I also added cheese and bacon in each layer prior to baking. It gave it great flavor! I will try the recipe again!
