This was one of the better breakfast sandwiches that I have had. The cream cheese was a perfect touch, Canadian Bacon the right meat and poaching the egg the right strategy! Awesome!

This recipe is fantastic! I didn't use cream cheese, but went for a more traditional Egg-McMuffin like approach. We really enjoyed. Thank you!

Quick, delicious, filling breakfast option. I used an egg poacher rather than the free-form water method. Toasted the english muffins, added a couple of slices of cooked bacon, pepper-jack cheese (what I had on-hand) and topped with eggs. We will be having this one again. Thanks Terry for sharing your recipe.

I loooove making breakfast sandwiches like this! A little s&p on my eggs for extra seasoning, but that's it - follow everything else. :)

I used the new Philly creme chive flavored and shredded mozzarella in place of cream cheese and american cheese. In place of Canadian bacon I used pre-cooked bacon which I heated. It was ok with my substitutions but those were the ingredients I had on hand. I don't think I will make this again. It really tasted like it could use Hollandaise sauce for more flavor.

Pretty good for breakfast, my kids really liked it. This was the first time poaching an egg for me and I'm not sure if I I added too much water or not. I didn't like the way a poached egg tasted. I partially fried/steamed the other batch and liked the way it tasted that way. I used cheddar cheese instead and added lettuce to it.I feel that it needs some type of sauce to give it a 5 star.

Husband and kids went crazy over these. A couple of the kids said they are better than McDonalds! :) Hubby refused to try the Cream Cheese and that set off the "no cream cheese for me either please" requests so that was left out. We used Kraft White American Cheese Slices and the "English Muffins" recipe from this site and they were perfect. These have already been requested for next Sunday morning. Thanks for sharing!

I think I'm going to mark on my calendar that this is the day Hubs assigned a recipe 5-stars. Go figure, it's still "only" eggs on bread when you get right down to it. But I think even he realized that in spite of (or maybe because of) its simplicity this really is delicious, satisfying and certainly attractive on the plate too. If you're expecting a BIG taste from the cream cheese it isn't there - in fact, Hubs didn't even notice it. But I don't think that was the point - yet it did contribute something because this was rich, creamy and full of flavor, particularly if you cook the poached eggs just right. It's unclear exactly what the submitter had in mind for the cheese, but I used Kraft Deluxe American Singles, which is NOT a processed cheese. Truthfully, I don't think it makes a dang bit of difference what you use. I served these garnished with fresh parsley and sprinkled with paprika, with fresh fruit on the side.
