OMG! This is so good! I did double the recipe and am so glad that I did. Followed others suggestions of chicken broth instead of water and half milk and half fat free half/half. Also took the suggestion of several dashes of tabasco. This would be wonderful as is, is superb with the suggestions! Definitely in our winter soup rotation. Thank you so much for sharing!

Delicious. Next time I make this however, I will cook the bacon separately and possibly use back bacon (Canadian bacon) to reduce the fat. Also, I used frozen kernel corn instead of canned creamed corn with about 1 1/2 cups of 15% cream and added finely chopped red pepper for color.

I love this one, with a few minor changes. Like most, I exchanged the water for chicken stock. Cooking the bacon first is a good idea, then adding onion and celery. I also used 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup half and half for a little thcker soup. Additionally, adding a can of corn niblets and a few cups of cooked chicken make it a hearty delicious meal that my whole family will eat.

We made this for a tailgating party, and it was a huge hit. The only thing I did differently, as another reviewer suggested, was to cook the bacon separately to let it brown and crisp up. Then I added it after the vegtables were softened. Some added a dash of hot sauce-some were very happy with it as it is written. I was requested to send it to many of the guests. One guest was from Norway, and I was able to re-calculate in metric proportions for her-thank you very much!!!
