Bacon Cheeseburger Rice
SUBMITTED BY:
Joyce Whipps
"'My husband and I thought the original skillet dish lacked pizzazz, so we created this tastier version,' reports Joyce Whipps of West Des Moines, Iowa. 'I've had teenage nieces and nephews request the recipe after their first bite.'"

This is a quick and easy dish. My husband literally at the whole pot!! I would suggest adding some regular or seasoned salt to give the dish a little more flavor.

I was a little skeptical reading the ingredients, but this was pretty good! My 6yr old loved it and ate two bowls. I think next time I'll substitute ketchup for part of the BBQ sauce.

This was very delicious and reheats very well. I accidentally put... a LOT of extra cheese in it, but it came out right. However, I do think that the barbeque sauce was a bit overpowering, it could have just been the kind I used, but I did enjoy this dish. Personally, I'd prefer just to cook up bigger pieces of bacon with the beef next time, it was hard to notice the little flecks.

Well liked by all. Had to adapt since I'm not "allowed" to have instant rice in the house. I precooked the rice, and added it with just enough water to make the sauce the right consistency. Also, mixed half honey-barbeque sauce and half catsup, since dh doesn't like anything too spicy. This was a big hit.

This is amazingly good! I was a little wary at first, and I did omit the pickle, but the taste was still fantastic. I was just looking for a quick new idea with some hamburger I had left and this is a new family favorite! My husband absolutely loved it and he is so picky! My kids liked it as well, and they rarely like anything either! I would recommend this recipe, it's is a wonderful surprise!!

This is a very quick and easy recipe that we enjoy - one of the best I have found on this site. I have made this recipe probably 10 times in the last month - it is very addicting! I follow the recipe exactly (except I use six slices of turkey bacon) and it always turns out great. The prominent tastes are bacon and barbeque sauce (I followed the advice of a previous reviewer and left the bacon in pretty big chunks. I also chopped up the pickle into specks, so we really couldn't taste them.) Thanks for a great, easy recipe.

The first time I made this we didn't love the flavor of the BBQ sauce, so the next time I made it I used ketchup instead, and substituted 3/4 cup of the water with pickle juice, Delish!!!!
