I really enjoyed this recipe. It was quick and easy to throw together. Longest step was cooking the bacon. I am typically not a big broccoli salad
fan, this was honeslty the first one I enjoyed. Ironicly, my husband didn't care for it, eventhough he is the broccoli salad lover.
He said it was lacking something. I did increase the amount of broccoli I used as well as doubled the sauce. I just felt 10 slices of bacon to 1 cup broccoli was too much. To reduce fat in this recipe I used light mayo, turkey bacon, and
slightly reduced the sugar (this may have been where my husband was thrown off.)
I also used craisins instead of raisins because that is what I had on hand. I would reccommend this recipe for quick side dishes at dinner, lunches, picnics, or a great dish to bring to pass at potlucks. Note: In the future I will be sure to use unsalted sunflower seeds because it was a tad salty. Toasting the sunflower seeds prior to adding to the dish adds a nice touch.
